Find Ancestors

Does anyone know if Ermington is a big place, whether it would have more than one cemetery. I have a burial for a George Gosling on 29 Apr 1811 and would love to know if there is a headstone with any info.

Thanks malyon, but my George married Joan Elliott in 1751. and had about 11 children. I wish he was married to Judith because there's so many records there ... nothing about George and Joan except for a marriage and some baptisms.

for some reason away from home parish and illiterate as everyone was, and the local vicar didn't know the standard spelling of the name

Thanks everyone, this certainly has given me something to think about. I hadn't seen the reference to Joan Gosling born in 1728 ... possibly a sister to George ... definitely worth trying to follow up.
George is a definite brick wall.

i think the joan gosling death 1816 i posted is the joan ellet spelt different to elliot
if her father was robert and she named her son robert could be her

by the way, Devon parish records are held at the Devon Heritage Centre with some other scattered locations
