ELIZABETH MARY ALLEN BORN 1865 at Bedfordshire . She got married to CHARLES BRITTEN born 1860 at Salford, Bedfordshire. I need her parents names and the details please? Can you help me please? Thank you.

I am editing this post on 6 August to make clear for Deborah what has been concluded, as I posted on the second page of the thread

This is simply false, it seems to have been based on some kind of assumption made from the marriage record without doing any verifying, even checking censuses.

In the marriage list with those two names, they did not even marry each other!

*that* Elizabeth Mary Allen married Joseph Walter Davenport in 1885

a *different* Elizabeth married a *different* Charles Britten ... Elizabeth Lankester Tansley in 1886

there is no Elizabeth Mary Allen birth in Bedfordshire 1863-1867

your best course is to get her marriage certificate to confirm her age and the name she gave for her father


(and I am deleting the info about an Elizabeth Allen born in Bedford in 1865 because she is not relevant)


In the 1891 census in Salford, Elizabeth wife of Charles appears to be Elizabeth L Britten

How do you know that is the right marriage ?

oh ... I was assuming Deborah is descended from that marriage or that it is in some way a known fact :-)

... and that the info about Elizabeth comes from a census ...

(edit, but it turns out the marriage in the OP was fictitious, those two people did not marry)

we really do need to know some facts, and who is the actual person of interest here ... whoever married Charles Britten, or Elizabeth Mary Allen (or Odell?) ... or the other Charles and Elizabeth Britten couple ....... !!

So Elizabeth M A actually married Joseph Walter Davenport. NOT Charles Britten...Argggh !!

Salford - The death of Mr. Charles Britten look place 6th May, he was 71 years age and had been in fading health for some years, death being the result of seizure. He leaves a widow, four sons, and two daughters, having lost two sons in the war. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon in the Parish Church. The widow was unable to attend through illness.

Mrs. Britten, who was blind, had been an invalid for many years and had borne her infirmities with great courage. The funeral took place at Salford Chuch on Saturday.
