Glad you know what the problem was Ann and yes heres hoping it will come soon. Simply cant do very long without a machine. i could manage for a week but it would soon pile up!

Grey rainy day and i felt it cold too. Getting the car back tomorrow but at a cost!
Anyway have a load of boxes waiting to go so that will clear a space.

Tired tonight so off to bed a bit earlier than normal. Take care peeps

Good morning all, already 9 degrees here so not cold but grey and looking like yet more rain. so it will be gardening in the dry times if at all.
This morning the men are returning to change the misted glass in the small opening conservatory window they did the door that was misted on Tuesday then cracked the new glass for the window. I am also expecting my car to be brought back, with standing undriven for so long through lockdown and then when T was in hospital the battery was not good. Then I dodn't feel like driving it when T died and the battery was flat when I tried. so they took it in to check it over and fit a new battery so that is something I will have to pay for this morning.

Hope yours comes back Ok Florence. Sounds as if you are progressing well with the move now.

Aw Joan, there are some horrible people about.I had a run in at the hospital last week with a jobsworth wanting me to explain why I wouldn't wear a mask. She said be if I refused to wear one,I wouldn't get my scan!!!I was so upset but the radiologist called me through and said don't worry about her,we will do your scan without a mask.
I have an excemption card too....nasty woman.

Why do some people judge others so we quickly?
Anyway your cake sounds delicious.
I got my car back but....oh dear I needed a bush and welding done as there is a hole on a sill! The bill today including the service was £185.The welding and not in the 8th June probably £300!!! But I can't afford to buy another this year what with moving costs etc.

Poor you Ann...cars are great when they work and such a pain when something goes wrong.

Really tired tonight after transporting s dozen boxes and emptying today.
So off to bed now.

Sleep well everyone

A late evening hello folks.
Was very grey and almost black clouds loomed all day so much so that I thought the heavens would open and pour...but actually it didnt. Very strange too as so quiet with no wind. Never like it, when its so still as usually a storm brewing.
Well we had a carry on today with the water. Was just getting ready to load up and over to new house when I noticed a huge puddle outside front door and a terrible smell!
Went round the back to where the bathroom pipe is and oh my(hold nose!) there was unmentionable mess pouring out the drain. So tel the water company and about 2 hours later they arrived. They put rods down the main manhole and flushed it out as there indeed was a great blockage of some sort.

I had to put the washing machine on a 60 degree wash and plenty of washing soda. Thankfully the smell has gone and all back to normal.
Just kept us back as was going to make 2 trips today but only did one.

Joan you did well in your garden today.I bet you enjoyed being outside.

Champagne Tawny, love a glass of bubbly. Nearly time for the Pimms season!

Well better get to bed soon as lots of tidying up here to do tomorrow.

Nite nite all

Evening peeps.Got my new cooker delivered today and also the blinds man came at the same time. They look great and the cooker wow.So can't wait to use it.
Was driving back here about 2pm and the sky was angry looking and very black and then the heavens opened!!
Crikey some flooded parts and huge puddles could only drive at 35 mph safely.
Feeling tired tonight as the travelling I'm not used to.

Joan your garden is shaping up nicely and I'm sure those flapjacks are tasty with a cuppa.
Just resting on sofa watching TV for awhile. Was just watching Holby City...my fav program.Anyone else watch it?

Stay safe peeps

Island,it says that this is her first baby and her mother had waited years to become a grandmother.I couldn't see any reference to another child?

Sold my freezer today along with the strimmer and lawn mower.Neither myself or daughter are fit to mow anymore but I found a young man with reasonable rates.
Joan, take it easy lady!!You are doing loads but take it slowly it will get done in time.

Lovely evening but I think rain and gales heading this way tomorrow!

I slept well last night but still tired so off to bed soon

I do think that it must be extremely tiring to have a baby (first or otherwise) when you are 50. However, she will not be exhausted from pregnancy or birth as I read that she used a surrogate. Obviously she needs her figure to support herself and the child. Although I am sure she has good savings. She seemd really delighted and I wish herall the best and hopes that she enjoys motherhood.

Good afternoon folks although not having a good day at all.
Thought i was getting on so well and then....
I ordered for my daughter a lovely white piece of furniture that had 3 large drawers, 2 medium and 3 smaller ones. ideal for her needs. I ordered it over 3 weeks in plenty of time as it is home assembly.

My two bookcases arrived last week and they are assembled and in new house.
So today looked at my Amazon orders to discover the delivery date had disappeared and it said the item had been lost!! i telephoned and the lady apologized and said yes it had been lost in transit and would refund me. She also said that if it should turn up at a later date, i could keep the item. However time is running out and I cannot order something else online as with the ferry fiasco and breakdowns, no guarantee it would arrive before the 31st.

We have one shop in town so i shall have to go tomorrow and see what they have but daughter had her heart set on the one i ordered.

Yesterday, driving over to the house, my steering went a bit funny and felt the car slide a bit. I stopped to check my tyres but they were ok. It really unerved me as im still nervous when i drive.

I drove home at 40 mph and today tel the garage. i know a rear bush had gone and waiting on part. I did google last night and it said the bush could affect the steering as its part of the suspension. Its said if this happens, its really not safe to drive!!
Garage said was better not to drive it much until it goes in for repair.
Oh my, that means i cant take over anymore things now until we leave on 31st may. Also the oil boiler has finished in this house, so i have no heating or hot water but i do have electric shower.

Poor landlady. She has to get a new boiler before 8th jun as thats the exchange date when new owners take over. £2000 for a new one. Feel very sorry for her but its just sods law i guess.

Always something when you really dont need anymore stress.
But nothing i can do about the car, the part is on order.

Ann, i couldnt imagine having a baby at 50....tiring doesnt cut it. Also She will be 70 when that child is only 20.
Bright but breezy day and going to get windier with rain later.
Hope everyone having a good day.
Take care

Well what a cold overcast day. Im really feeling the cold and looking outside just made me want to stay in bed and be cosy!

Another few weeks and we will be on the turn with darker nights...Thats very hard to believe really.

Please let the sun shine and the sun come out. as i would have liked to have gone for a walk but it rained.
Hope everyone is keeping well.
