can't find wife on ancestry

I have an Edwin Robert Collings who married March qtr 1930 Portsmouth and the brides surname is Prestwich. When I do it in reverse to check for her Christian name, there are no matches. Any ideas why?? Thanks Jan |

if its on ancestry index BMD could be 1/4 mistranscribed or missing put a diff 1/4 in then click on year then 1/4 missing the letter of name then just go though images until you get right page if missing have to ask some one to check 1837 site jeanette |

Try using the Quarter, District & Vol/Page reference only in FreeBMD, that should bring up the other names on the page if they have been transcribed accurately. (Don't type in anything in the name fields) Linda |

Jan - the page you want is missing on the beta images. It goes straight from page 139 (which finishes with Judah PRESS) to page 141 (which starts with George E C PRICE). They seem to have missed out quite a lot of the even numbered pages in this section. Afraid you'll have to check 1837online. |
