can't find wife on ancestry

I've got her too - Sarah Prestwich m Edwin R Collings Portsmouth 2b/763 1st Q 1930 Linda PS I've done that so often Liz - don't be embarrassed!

Dea, Where did you find that? I have looked on 1837online and I cannot see either of them in March 1930. Am I looking at the wrong quarter? Liz

Jan - the page you want is missing on the beta images. It goes straight from page 139 (which finishes with Judah PRESS) to page 141 (which starts with George E C PRICE). They seem to have missed out quite a lot of the even numbered pages in this section. Afraid you'll have to check 1837online.

Oops need to wake up, I read 1830... you could probably do it through www.familyrealtives.org, but you'd need to buy units. Linda

Try using the Quarter, District & Vol/Page reference only in FreeBMD, that should bring up the other names on the page if they have been transcribed accurately. (Don't type in anything in the name fields) Linda

if its on ancestry index BMD could be 1/4 mistranscribed or missing put a diff 1/4 in then click on year then 1/4 missing the letter of name then just go though images until you get right page if missing have to ask some one to check 1837 site jeanette

I have an Edwin Robert Collings who married March qtr 1930 Portsmouth and the brides surname is Prestwich. When I do it in reverse to check for her Christian name, there are no matches. Any ideas why?? Thanks Jan
