Good afternoon folks
I have been searching via ancestry for the deaths of Benjamin J Darts Snr and Jnr without any success.
Benjamin J Darts Snr was born 1872 Huntingdon and married Annie Ada Lilley. Benjamin's son was born 1907 Northamptonshire.
Many thanks

I'm wondering if this is Benjamin Senior travelling to SA in 1908:
Name: Mr J B Darts Occ: Traveller Port of Departure: Delagoa Bay, Mozambique Arrival Date: 21 Dec 1908 Port of Arrival: Southampton, England Ports of Voyage: Cape Town Ship Name: Durham Castle Shipping line: Union-Castle Mail Steamship Company Ltd Official Number: 118387
There is also a Mrs JB Darts on the same list. ---------------------------------
I suspect they both returned and Bejamin/ James snr went back out a year later:
Name: Mr J B Darts Occ: Traveller Gender: Male Departure Date: 24 Apr 1909 Port of Departure: Southampton, England Destination Port: Natal Ship Name: Dunluce Castle Shipping line: The Union Castle Mail Steamship Company Limited Official Number: 118490 Master: J W Hague ---------------------------------------------------------------
There is also this which could be Benjamin jnr. He doesn't appear to be traveling with any Darts family members (perhaps going to his father?):
Name: Mstr B Darts Gender: Male Age: 9 Birth Date: abt 1907 Departure Date: 16 Feb 1916 Port of Departure: London, England Destination Port: Cape Town, South Africa Ship Name: Palmella Castle Shipping line: The Union-Castle Mail Steamship Co, Ltd Official Number: 114839 Master: R E H Becker

Wondered if this was a first marriage for Benjamin jnr before going to SA (you'd need the marriage cert to confirm):
First name(s) BENJAMIN J Last name DARTS Marriage quarter 2 Marriage year 1931 Spouse: GERTRUDE M SHERGOLD Spouse's last name SHERGOLD District WELLINGBOROUGH County Northamptonshire Volume 3B Page 386
There was one child born in England in 1931 Essex (James), but this child died the same year.
Although the initial differs from the marriage, I think this is a possible death for his wife (probably in child birth):
Name: Gertrude D Darts Birth Date: abt 1902 Date of Registration: Sep 1931 Age at Death: 29 Registration district: Rochford Inferred County: Essex Volume: 4a Page: 572 -------------------------------------------
Possibly met whilst travelling? There is a Gertrude Dorothy Shergold- a Stewardess travelling many times between UK & US around 1928-1931 that could fit. There are also several entries for a Benjamin Dart (assistant inspector) travelling to the US at similar times.
Perhaps he lied about his age?

This connected- not sure how yet, but the UK address is the same as Benjamin jnr and Ada gave when they travelled to SA:
UK, Outward Passenger Lists, 1890-1960 Name: Miss J E Darts Gender: Female Departure Date: 27 Sep 1935 Port of Departure: Southampton, England Destination Port: Cape Town, South Africa Ship Name: Warwick Castle Shipping line: The Union Castle Mail Steamship Company Official Number: 162527 Master: W Morton Betts
Last UK Address: 3 Rock Street, Wellingborough
Age is hard to read- possibly age 7 or 1
