Am researching the above person who appears in many trees under both names. She live from about 1804-1891 and married in 1828 a James Davey but there appear to be no source citations to support this date or the date of her death although her birth in Torrington, Devon appears reasonably accurate from census records. I am trying to find records of her birth and death and hopefully the names of her parents and which is her correct maiden name. Thanks in advance for any help. |

Thanks for that. I don't think it can be the marriage to my Davey as he is definitely James Davey. I think some license may have been taken in assuming she was his bride as it is obvious that an Emma Scriggins was born in the right place at the right time but the m arriage couldn't have been hers as she was only 6. Perhaps someone in a previous generation also married a Davey. It does appear the correct name is Scriggins not Serigins. Thanks for your help. |

Yes she was last mentioned in 1871. Think that must be the correct marriage in 1826 as there is no evidence apart from other trees that it was 1828. I notice the name is Striggins not Scriggins so will look that up. |

Hi Chris. Can't find any maiden names on any of the births on ancestry. It just says Emma. I only have basics on genes so don't have any credits and don't really know how else to find out. As you say the derivations are endless but thanks so much for trying to help. |

I wonder if this is Emma's death? She is the correct age. Died April 1880 aged 74. |

it's strange how neither Emma nor her daughters Mary and Sarah Jane seem not to be on any censuses after 1871! |
