I have a hint on ancestry for a death of John McAlpine 24 Feb 1914 in Ontario Canada aged 83 born in Scotland

Could someone look to see if their are any more details as I have a John McAlpine
born Scotland lived in Northumberland But after his wife died in 1885 can't find him as other relations have gone to USA it is possible this could be him

He is listed as Father In Law and therefore Anna McNaughton Whitson Ms McAlpine is his daughter.

As far as I know his wife was Margaret I've got Margaret Hall ?? don't know where I've got it from just tried to confirm it on BMD but nothing is showing up for

and yes sorry he was a shoemaker I've got that many John McAlpine's I was looking at the wrong one when I said he was a Labourer

Yes it does look as though I got Margaret's surname from the births
I've just had a look at marriages on scotlandspeople their isn't one up to 1852

You say his wife died in 1885, so is this her death?

Yes that is the death I have for Margaret
1881 census they are in Byker Northumberland McCalpine
I have that Francis died

John's parents were George McAlpine & Cecilia Liddle but as I've said don't think the John who immigrated is my John
