I can't find a Douglas Horsburgh born in Surrey in the birth index. Could the Douglas you are looking for have been born in Scotland? |

Unfortunately it's not possible to search for such a recent birth (1855 or later) on ScotlandsPeople using parents' names, so without buying birth certs it would be impossible to pinpoint a particular person. |

Cranston was born Dumfries- there are a couple of Douglas Horsburgh also born Dumfries (in 1917 and 1928) |

If you know whether Douglas was older or younger than Cranston then you should be able to decide which of the two births given by AustinQ is the most likely to be the one and you could then buy the birth certificate for his parent's names. |

Would these be siblings of Cranston? Hard to believe that the father was born 1869. |

One wonders how you managed to type 1869 when you meant 1904? |

There does seem to be lots of confusion! Putting your information in a tree (I use Ancestry) would help. |
