I'm looking for any information on this gentleman who passed away in 1983 at Erskine hospital. I believe he was a chartered accountant and was likely commissioned as an officer in the Cameronians in 1930. |

Playing around with ages on his death record, he was 78 when he died, so born 1904/5. scotlandspeople only has one birth for that name, in 1904. If you buy credits on the site, you will be able to view and download his birth entry. |

Thank you, yes I have the date of birth and his death certificate. I'm trying to trace his descendants. As background, we think he may have been my mothers father, was hoping to get in touch with surviving members of his family but I've run out of places to look after his death 1983. The death was registered at Erskine hospital by the asst commandant. A wife is listed, Kathleen Bachelor, cannot find a record of where or when they were married and if they had any children. |

Tried the hospital , no reply so far. I'm now changing my interest to Archibald Neville Mclellan born in 1948 who arrived back in Scotland in 1954. No record of this guy but he would be the next logical step in the chain. |

Ah ok. The Kirkaldy references seemed a bit odd but no problem |

Can't see any sign of Archibald (1948) on SP or Ancestry - at least not conclusively. |

As an update, now know Archibald was in the Cameronians and left as a Major in 1948. He was in fact in Erskine Hospital from 1977 to 1983. Really seeking to connect with Archibalds family. |
