Looks like he got married late then...aged 30. That's an amazing find ...seems like he stole some expensive stuff. A t least we know where he was now then. That marriage is a possible. ..thanks for all your hard work x :-D |

So not much chance of finding them in 1871 as they were in India, and 1891 he was already dead. It looks likely for him in prison in 1881, so the marriage posted by Gins looks promising and would be most logical lead to follow up. |

A newspaper article confirms that the James Andrews above in Prison previously was a porter at Bank Top Railway station and his address was 61 Gannow Lane. |

He was a Railway employee, so could have been anywhere in the area covered by the Railway Company |

Thanks all. Maybe George was in hospital ...or the workhouse ....or working away. It's harder to discover where he was born but it's possibly Scotland . Maybe he was away with the army as it seems he was maybe a career soldier or child of army personnel.? |
