I've noticed Edward and Edmund are sometimes used interchangeably, but Ed's marr above seems to be a transcription problem, as Ed only signed one register - now in some records office, with copies in the local registers office and in the GRO - the latter would be transcribed again by the indexer, and then 3 transcribers have transcribed these 3 sets of records.
