I am searching on behalf of a friend in USA for her mother's family. She lived in Skinningrove. I have looked at the register and her grandmother's name appears as AOBOTT. But this could be a spelling error. Doreen married a Canadian soldier, surname Cancilla during WW11 and emigrated. Thankyou

My initial thoughts were that Aobott could easily be be mistaken for Abbott.
