Gins, Dea, Greyghost and Potty, thank you all so much, i now have more information on the Massey family than i have ever Had. My grans maiden name was Jane Hutchinson and it was her mother who was Mary Massey. Interesting to know that she had no middle initial, in the book she is called Mary Elizabeth. I will be able to fill in more on my family history with your wonderful research, much gratitude. |

Dea, i am now confused, you write of a John Massey born c 1834 who married Elizabeth Siddall born c1840 in 1862. I have no trace of this John Massey in my Family Tree, the only John massey i have is the one born c1811 or c1816 who married Jane Goslin and who were the parents of Mary Massey, can you clear this up ? Thanks Dea xx |

Hi Jansmith, thank you for your help. Do not think this can be my Mary Hutchinson as she was born in 1851 and died in 1894. I have no record of a child called Mary Ann, as far as i know the last child to be born was Ada in 1889 and is the subject of the little book written by her daughter Elsie titled : For the Love of Ada..... And Salford. Regards. |

Hi Yvonne, do not think this is my family, we have no connection with the Preston area and at roughly this Period my Gt Grandmother Mary Massey was Born. She was born on 25th July 1851 and Christened on 26th November 1851 in Manchester. Thank you anyway for your help. |
