thanks for all your help I had got most of this information but discounted it because he had always said he came from derbyshire. I will get the marriage certificate to see what other details I can get from it |

Yvonne, if you have the medals then around the rim of the medal should be his name, rank service number and regiment (although many I've seen are quite badly worn). |

To go back further with Hubert, you need 1919 Marriage Cert., will give name of his Father (hopefully!) to get right one. |

thanks to everyone who replied to my posts all information on lizzie king nee sabin is what i've found. hubert charles kings name is on death certificate of william sabin lizzie sabins dad. Hubert had the nick name of either ube or jube.he also served in ww1 have found two medals which i presumed belong to him but don't know how to verify this, also some photos in uniform. |

The 1901 and 1911 census is for the Hubert who was born in 1888...so not the right Hubert. |
