Tassy, thanks for telling me about your club. .. It sounds quite interesting. .. I presume you have a daily outing now and again. .. Probus has a speaker, and generally an outing once a month (I'm too new a member to know if they raise money for charity) .. I presume Probus stands for Professional Business - that doesn't apply to me, they didn't ask any questions when I joined. Up late this morning - a stunning day outside. .. No chooks to feed today, not even going out the front door (except to empty the teapot) Have a great day all. Jood <brmmmmmmmmmmmmm brmmmmmmmmmmmmm> - NO I DO NOT HAVE THE TV ON!!! I remember years ago one of our animals used to watch the car races and his head would go round in circles! |

Good morning Wattlers Well it is another lovely day on the island, and looks a beautiful day on the mountain too. Jood yes we do sometimes get asked if we are a bowling team lol, the only bowlers we have in our group is one of the ladies who at the moment is what you would call the president of the state in our organization, I actualy take over in Feburary, and myself but we tenpin bowl not lawn bowls, althought I havent bowled since I had my heart turn 5 years ago, but used to bowl league. It was quite funny yesterday as we stopped at Maccas for a thickshake on way home and this bloke came up and asked us if we belonged to a bowling or karate team pmsl. Karate ????????????? Here we stand with the youngest being 44 and oldest in mid 80's haaaaa haaaaa. We could be like Probus but Im not sure, we have our own local meeting once a month and we have what we call an open day where we visit the other groups twice a year, which means there is 2 meeting in the south, 2 in the NW and 2 in North a year, plus a big state meeting twice a year, we are one of those groups that do have secret and password etc, but we mainly work on charity within our area and help our less fortunate when and if the need arises. Ok I may not be back on here today, already have FPV shirt on and tv already warmed up. How you going Jude DIY will you be having nose in here to get away from TV lol ~~~~ to all ~~~~ Cheers Sue |

Pam. The 'legal' age of consent was 21..... *of age* .....21 and upwards. The lowest age for an allowable marriage.....was still 14 years for boys, and 12 for girls....but they still needed consent from parents. So if you see *of age* on a cert. then they is over 21 Tony Oz..:>)) |

I forgot to tell you - this girlfriend I met for coffee, is Scottish, from Paisley (where funnily, my ancestors came from) - she's been here long enough to speak like me but ................ She calls her grandsons wee boy - everyone is wee - and if she says she is going hame to the dug ................. hmmmm - I found out a few yrs ago she was going home to the dog .. pmsl .. I love her!!!! Tassy, you say you wear white - do you look like a mob of bowling ladies, or what? How often do you meet, go on trips?? .. Sounds like the Probus club I have just joined. Jood |

Thanks Joodles . . . My turn to buy the Lotto for next weekend . . . and I will be in Melbooon . . . so I guess it is celebration lunch at Jude & Ken's on Sunday (teeheee) !! Devily . . . fun going on the roundabouts in the bus isn't it !! There was a movie I saw ages ago with the girls that worked for me at the Beauy Day Respite Centre - can't remember what it was called but it was about this bloke, filthy rich, used to get his driver to go around the roundabouts again and again, and he would stand up with head out the sunroof - when he died they got the hearse to go around and said 'One more time for the old fella' . . . that was our saying when we came to a rooundabout!! in the bus . . . full of oldies !! One day we took two loads of oldies up to Brissy to pick up a new bigger bus, and after we had collected it they all wanted to sit in the new one - and we went to the airport for a dream date . . . 'Where are they all going - we wanna go too' Came to the big roundabout near the Bris airport . . . and OMG !!!!! . . . big bus no like going around and around . . . third time round and we all thought we were going to topple over . . . scared the living daylights out of all of us !! I was never game to do it again! Every email I get from one of the girls (at least 3 a week) refers to 'One more for the old fella' . . . Might add . . . that friend, she took the new bus to take oldies home out on farms once we got back to Beauy . . . backed brand new bus into elect pole !!! Only thing in the paddock, not even a tree for miles, and she hit the pole !!! (wiped out the hoist in the back too) Teeheee must go and send her an email in case she hasn't remembered today what she did to my brand new bus!!! PMSL luv Laurie |
