Good morning :-)
In his sermon yesterday, the vicar was giving us an explanation of what the word ‘Grace’ meant, and he offered us an acronym - God’s Riches at Christ’s Expense. Acronyms are very popular these days – they are everywhere and yes, they are in the Christian world too!

Good evening :-D
Made it by the skin of my teeth! It's been church, baptisms and walking day today, so a pretty hectic schedule. Well worth the effort though. :-D
Collect (special prayer) for today:
O God, the protector of all who trust in you, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy: increase and multiply upon us your mercy; that with you as our ruler and guide we may so pass through things temporal that we lose not our hold on things eternal; grant this, heavenly Father, for our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Remember the mustard seed: Mustard Seed prayer God, thank you for the mustard seed although it is so small. God, thank you for the plant that grows up largest of them all. God, thank you for the birds that sing in branches that reach wide. God, thank you for the words you teach while walking by my side. God, give us love and strength to meet each other’s need. God, bury me to rise again just like the mustard seed.

Hello all
I've loved reading all the daily posts this week. I've been nodding my head in agreement, every single day. Thank you Cynthia.

Good morning :-)
Remember the mustard seed:
"Some people believe that the tasks they do for the church, such as vacuuming the floor or organizing hymn books, are unimportant. They think no one would notice if they didn't do these small tasks. They may feel disheartened by the size of their church, thinking it's too small for anyone to want to attend.
However, both big and small contributions are valuable. Sometimes, a small action can make a significant impact. Jesus emphasized this by sharing the story of the mustard seed to teach this important lesson.

Good morning :-)
Remember the mustard seed:
There were only a very few believers in the beginning but the number of people who followed Jesus grew and grew. That is only because those first few told a few. Then they told a few. Then those told some more …
Sometimes people think that they are not important to God. They want to do things to help the church but they think that the things they do are not important and they give up.
Some people think they are too old to help the church.
Kids sometimes think they are too young to help the church.
Some of the people who followed Jesus thought those things too. Jesus wanted to teach the people something new. He wanted them to know that everything we do to help others is important. Everything anyone does to help the church is important too.
We thank God for the many people who help to keep our churches open.

Good morning :-)
Remember the mustard seed:
Take A Step Of Faith It's hard for us to always know The path that we must choose, To be confident and certain, We hear God's voice to move
For we find the path's not easy, But one that we must take, Because sometimes we just need to Take a little step of faith
And sometimes we may feel so lost, Unsure of what to do, That's when we need to trust in God, That He will guide us through
For we all have huge mountains To conquer in our lives, But we can conquer all of them When we choose to trust in Christ
Because God knows the way ahead Is hard and looks so steep, But it only takes a little faith The size of a mustard seed
To conquer all those mountains That rise up in our lives, And as we keep on stepping out Those mountains shrink in size
So, we must trust to the Lord The mountains that we face, And boldly take each step with Him, With our mustard seed of faith. © By M.S.Lowndes

The teeny mustard seed
Sometimes it may seem that the role we play in the grand scheme of things is insignificant. We might feel that our congregation is too small to accomplish much. The parable of the mustard seed teaches us that great things can come from very small beginnings. Always keep the mustard seed in mind.

Amen to your Collect prayer for today Cynthia.
Many grateful thanks for this week's postings...I have to admit that yesterday really spoke to me.
I was blessed to have had a kind and loving Dad.

Remembering all dads, those with us and those who are no longer here, on this special day.
The Collect (special prayer for today) Almighty God, you have broken the tyranny of sin and have sent the Spirit of your Son into our hearts whereby we call you Father: give us grace to dedicate our freedom to your service, that we and all creation may be brought to the glorious liberty of the children of God; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Today we hear the story of the mustard seed.

Holy Spirit, I ask that this Saturday would be a day of rest. Give me peace in my heart and mind. Help to trust you with the situations in my life that I can’t control. Help me to break off worry, and striving. So that I can fully hand over every area of my life to You. In the powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

God. It’s the end of another calendar week. For some of us, it’s the end of a work week. For some of us it’s the beginning of a long work weekend. For some of us, we’re not sure what today is. So I ask you for peace right now. In our anxiety, be our consolation. In our long lists, be our deep rest. In our big data, be our wisdom. And as we care for what and who we care about, let us know your care for each of us. Amen.

Lovely service last night for 26 adults and children who wished to be confirmed. The Bishop was in fine form and everything went well.
Something we will see plenty of during the summer…………and made by God:
"The dandelion is the only flower that represents the three celestial bodies of the sun, moon, and stars: The yellow flower resembles the sun, the puff ball resembles the moons, and the dispersing seeds resemble the stars. The dandelion flower opens to greet the morning and closes in the evening to go to sleep. Every part of the dandelion is useful: root, leaves, flower. It can be used for food, medicine, and dye for colouring. Up until the 1800s, people would pull grass out of their lawns to make room for dandelions and other useful “weeds” like chickweed, malva and chamomile. The name dandelion is taken from the French word “dent de lion” meaning lion’s tooth, referring to the coarsely-toothed leaves. Dandelions have one of the longest flowering seasons of any plant. Dandelion seeds are often transported away by a gust of wind and they travel like tiny parachutes. Seeds are often carried as many as five miles from their origin! Birds, insects, and butterflies consume nectar or seeds of dandelion. Honey from bees pollinating dandelions is quite delicious. Dandelion flowers do not need to be pollinated to form seeds. Root of dandelion can be used as a substitute for coffee. Dandelion is used in folk medicine to treat infections and liver disorders. Tea made of dandelion act as a diuretic. If you know dandelions, they’ll grow shorter stalks to spite you. Dandelions are, quite possibly, the most successful plants that exist. They are masters of survival worldwide." ~ Author Unknown

Prince of Peace, grant me the serenity to face the challenges of this day with a calm heart and a peaceful spirit. Help me to release any anxieties and worries that weigh me down, knowing that You are in control. Amen

Good morning :-)
Goodness, it was wet yesterday! Very wet but we stood by our stations and opened church for those who needed a drink or wanted shelter. Today is our Coffee Morning for those who like quizzes and jigsaws. We have several with dementia and it's good to be able to chat with them. I may get some housework done at some stage!
For those who remember what a clothesline is! :-D
A clothesline was a news forecast, to neighbours passing by, There were no secrets you could keep, when clothes were hung to dry. It also was a friendly link, for neighbours always knew If company had stopped on by, to spend a night or two. For then you'd see the "fancy sheets", and towels upon the line; You'd see the "company tablecloths", with intricate designs. The line announced a baby's birth, from folks who lived inside, As brand-new infant clothes were hung, so carefully with pride! The ages of the children could, so readily be known By watching how the sizes changed, you'd know how much they'd grown! It also told when illness struck, as extra sheets were hung; Then nightclothes, and a bathrobe too, haphazardly were strung. It also said, "On vacation now", when lines hung limp and bare. It told, "We're back!" when full lines sagged, with not an inch to spare! New folks in town were scorned upon, if wash was dingy and grey, As neighbours carefully raised their brows, and looked the other way. But clotheslines now are a thing of the past, for dryers make work much less. And what goes on inside a home, is anybody's guess! I really miss that way of life, it was a friendly sign When neighbours knew each other best ... by what hung on that line. ( author unknown )
