The latest on Maureens Mum is that she is now fading fast and it could be days or a few weeks.She hasn't managed to get a bed in the hospice and is now in a room of her own in the hospital.
Maureen says she will get back on here as soon as she feels able.

Thought and prayers are with Maureen and her mum. If she rings you again Jane give her all our love and wishes in this hard time.

Another lovely day here and I had a message from a lady called Shelia which I am putting on here. I have invited her to the thread but she came back to me by pm.

From Sheila I remember the war the table shelter the barrage baloons ,malt that was lovely, horrible white emulsion stuff ration books aand silver paper dropped by pilots on our lawn
school milk all dusty on top because it stood in the sun. Walking
miles to school in the snow. egg powder milk tablets my dad bought home from the ymca in a black tin given to the soldiers.;
showing identity cards and queing in the cinema .My old records that broke and my gas mask with a donald duck tongue that smelt funny. trams that turned round and the driver went up the other end to return. so much more I AM SEVENTY ONE.

Your right Jane it is hot out there already ,we've just sat out and had a coffee ,and i was hot in the shade !!

I have been thinking about Maureen and her mum, thanks Jane for letting us know the lastest news .

Of course I will tell Maureen we are all thinking of her.She knows that we are.She said she is getting lots of support from her children which I'm sure is a great comfort .

I went to Tes** just now .Boy I wish I hadn't .It was bedlam.Everyone was good humoured and there was a real buzz.Football fever I think lol.More iced coffee in the fridge plus a huge jug of iced water.We are getting through some amount of ice cubes.They are even going in Chesters water.

We've just been to Tes*o's to get some petrol ,plenty of traffic on the roads i ,bet it will be quiet later LOL

The temperature gauge thingy in the car was 33 degrees !!!!

I've got a big jug of iced coffee in the fridge too, that will be gone by the end of the day .

Phewy Pewy !!.We are all a bit droopy here.Bread ,cheese,pate and some tomatoes and our first cucumbers which are delicious for lunch
Hannahs hayfever is really troublesome today and making her feel a bit rotten.
There seems to a dog next door with the lads that are there and there is a lot of shouting going on.It sounds like it keeps trying to run off or something.I don't like to hear it.
I wonder if the beaches will be heaving this afternoon or will everyone be glued to the box!!!.I bet there will be some thoughtless people leaving dogs in cars to cook.I remember last year(I think it was last year) when those 2 police dogs died in the car.,and all the St Bernard dogs that died in a van I think there were about 13 !!!!!!!

We've just heard a load of sirens ,i think there must have been an accident on the A47, i hope its not a bad one.

Been in the pool and its lovely ,really cooled off now .

Bet Frank is watching the football ,with a cool beer on the side LOL

Germany has just scored Mandy.I hope no-one is badly hurt or killed in the accident.It always gives me the willies when I hear lots of sirens .Is the road a busy one?
I am sat glued on here and on the tv too.I can multi task you know lolol

Frank is sure to be watching the Footie,a can in one hand and the others in the fridge lol

BIL just gone and he had 4 doz eggs which was good.

I must go and do some watering as the tunnel needs it and so do my beans.

Mel, it's awful here....HE watches nearly all the matches!! If it hadn't been so hot I'd have been off somewhere.!!! Next time I think I will leave him to the telly and go on a cruise or something. lol

I have been freezing and bagging up icecubes in polythene bags Jane. I found a cheap ice lolly thing I bought in a £1 shop I think, so I've done some fresh orange juice lollies to try.
