Well that was a marathon Sallie. Buying and selling houses is very stressful, I am never sure whether you should sell first and then buy or vice versa. You have seen a bungalow you like but not sold your house. I hope nobody else comes along and snaps it up before you sell. I just keep looking round and imagining it was us..... Nope, can't fit a quart into a pint pot. It would take 6 months to downsize this lot! Good luck with it anyway, hope you get what you want.

Liz, although I’m looking forward to moving to a bungalow, I’m not putting my mind on anything at the moment, because as you know things have a way of going pear shape. It’s such a stressful time buying and selling houses, isn’t it? How is OH over the last few days? I hope he’s still in a chirpy mood. Have you been able to have the car as you did at the beginning of the week?
Huia, I hope your son was able to visit you at the weekend. It would be nice for you to have company, especially to go to the university. Not sure of the time with you, but if you’ve already been to the open day, hope it all went as well as you were hoping it would. Have you been to see Phil over the last few days?If you have, I hope you found him as well as can be expected.
Mo, I hope all is well with you and Roly. It looks as though both of you have been busy over the last few days, helping your granddaughter to move into her new place. It brought a smile to my face, when you told us about her ringing Roly about her needing a cable for her cooker and that she was desperate for his help. It seems that young people these days hardly ever have much time to get in touch, due to the busy lives they lead, but when they need help they have all the time in the world, to either phone or call in. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I feel sure we were not like that when we were young. I’m not saying it about your granddaughter Mo, as we have the same thing in our family, and so have a couple of friends of ours. It makes me feel so cross! How is your granddaughter getting on? I hope she’ll get some good news from the hospital. I didn’t have to go to the therapist last Thursday, as she said that she would like to see how I cope with missing a week, so after discussing it together, we both agreed to try it. I go to my normal appointment next Thursday. I must say she has helped me a lot, although the first three to four weeks I felt a lot worse, but over the weeks just by talking to her, she’s made me start to face my demons. Both you and Roly take care, and don’t go over doing things.
Marie, good to hear that you are still going to the gym and that you’re also doing water aerobics. I wish I had your energy. I hope that Jaimien’s a lot better now, bless him, being ill on his first birthday too. Nice to hear the three of you enjoyed the birthday lunch and also your dinner and birthday cake later on in the evening. It will be nice when you can start the album, hope it won’t be too long before you can. The problem is that once you start you won’t want to do anything else.
Ann, hope all is okay with both you and T. I’m quite pleased that I’ve made eight cards, and now started on the ninth one. I don’t think they’re too bad for my first attempt, but hopefully I’ll get better as I go along. I’ve been having a go at stamping, not on the cards I’ve made, but just trying it out. It looks alright, but not too sure what to use to colour it in. I’ll have to go on your Scrapbooking and Craft thread, to see if someone can give me some advice. Well, I think I’ve waffled on enough you’ll all be falling asleep reading it.
Love and best wishes. Sallie. xxx

Hi Everyone, I haven’t been on here for a couple of days, because I’ve been ‘bit by the card making bug ‘, so between that and looking for bungalows I haven’t had time for much else. We went to see the bungalow that’s two roads away from Jennie’s house, this morning. Although it only has two bedrooms, they are both double size rooms, a big living room and good size kitchen and bathroom, all going off a nice size hallway. If we get it, we’ll have to get someone to fit a new kitchen for us, so we’ll get the people who fitted our kitchen in this house to do it . They are a small local family run firm, that are very good.
Jean, glad to know that you and J arrived home safely! It’s nice to have you back with us. Yes, you’ll have to save all your pennies so that you can buy a laptop, then you can still join in while you’re away. It looks as though you chose the right week for the weather, you couldn’t ask for better at this time of the year. I’m sure that the both of you were able to do all that you enjoy doing. The weather makes such a big difference to everything. Did you go to the craft shop, while you were there? I hope all is well with D. I’m sure that she’s pleased to have you both home again. So Jean, do you feel in the mood for crafting, again, now that you are refreshed from your holiday?
Julia, I’ve read both your threads on Chat. Although we’ve lived in Derbyshire for thirty one years, I didn’t even know that Cranfield Hall existed. We get off at junction 28 when we go to what use to be McArthur Glen, but I’ve never seen any signposts for it at all. If you and your OH go there, you’ll have to let us know what it’s like. I wonder if you will be in ‘residence at your hotel’ when the Queen and Prince Phillip visit there. I hope for your sake that you won’t be. If you are, you’ll just have to get the very best nightie money can buy, maybe a purple ( a Regal colour ) pure silk one, with matching dressing gown. Don’t forget, you also have to fly YOUR family standard over your ‘hotel’—you must let Royalty know that you are in ‘residence’. Let’s hope that the weather is better tomorrow, than it is today, so that your OH can get some work done on his allotment. Debbie, I expect that both you and Peter are relieved to have the funeral over with. It’s nice to hear it went alright and that the weather was lovely for it. I’m sure that Peter didn’t realise until he seen so many people at the church, how well liked and respected his Dad was. He must feel very proud of the kind of person his Dad was. Did Daniel get off alright? I hope all is going well for him in Oldham. It sounds as though you had an enjoyable day out with your usual Thursday group. It’s great to sit, eat, relax and have a good natter with friends.
Sylvia, I don’t want to have to get rid of a lot of things if we move, because there are quite a few things that are of sentimental value. We certainly won’t have room to store all we have in a bungalow because there certainly isn’t the storage space that we have here. There again, I think that the more space there is, the more we are likely to fill it. Jennie is amazed by the amount of stuff we have kept over the years, she said there are so many things that we never use, and not ever likely to. I hope all is going well for baby MJ, and also for his Mum and Dad. Also hope you and OH are both well. Sorry I've gone over the limit, so I'll have to continue below.

Sallie, good luck with you bungalow visiting this weekend. Whilst driving through the area this morning to go to M******sons, I found myself subconsciously looking around for bungalows, and trying to guess where it is. Hoping to go to Jacksdale Garden Centre tomorrow, another of our favourites, because they have given out rain which means OH can't get on the allotment. Hopefully on Sunday he will get down there, as he has six fruit trees to get in. I'm supposed to be baking bread and greenhouse pottering, planting up the plant plugs I am hoping to buy tomorrow. The gardening season has now really started for us. Have a look at my thread on Chat about the Queen's visit to Derbyshire. It is meant very tongue in cheek. Take Care and enjoy your viewing Julia in Derbyshire

Good afternoon ladies. Debbie,It's good to hear that it went well on Wednesday. I hope now that things can back to some sort off normality. Did Daniel get away safetly. I do hope he does well tommorrow. When does your Thursday walking club resume it's walks again. Will it be after Easter. Marie you are soo right about my grandaughter. Everything about her is secret squirrel. We moved her to her new house yesterday. This morning she sent a txt to Roly, "Grandad my new cooker had arrived, but it's got no cable. And can you bring a spanner over,to take the securing bolts off of the washing machine". When Roly went to the house, she has not got the correct socket on the wall for a cooker, the sink has got no outlet for the washing machine,a complete nightmare. He told her to get hold off the letting agent, and get them to sort it out,but no not her,she wants it all done yesterday, and is going to tackle the sink herself. But obviously, for safety reasons, she cannot do the cooker point. When Roly got there, she had not started the unpacking, but had started painting the bathroom. She has always wanted to run before she can walk. I hope Jaimen is feeling better now,and is over his tummy problems. Eating the birthday cake, would not have made a big dent in your diet,as with all the excercise that you do,you would have soon burn't off the calories. Do you ever go to the Cheltenham races Ann. Is it very far away from where you live. We have been very lucky today,no rain so far. I have got two lines off washing done and dried. Ironing next, yuk. Sallie how did your therapy session go yesterday?. Just think Jean and J will be back home tommorrow, from their holiday. I hope that their weather has been as good to them,as it has been to us. I wonder if Marilyn is still enjoying her holiday. Just as long as she has not run off with the ships captain, and left them adrift at sea.lol Hi Huia,Liz,Sylvia and all our friends on this thread. Love to all. Mo xxx

Good morning, just been for a shortish (about 1.5 miles) to post a letter and pick up the papers. dry, hazy sun but quite a cold wind again here. It is supposed to rain later to the Cheltenham race goers will get wet. Debbi, I love Corbiere, it is very photogenic and, to me sort of symbolises Jersey.

Morning All, just popping in to say "Thank You" to you all for your kind thoughts over the past week. The funeral went very well, really personal and a lovely tribute to Peters Dad. There were about 150 people there and the singing went well (that always helps). The sun shone gloriously all day and everyone was in good spirits. That's the way it should be when you know that the end of a life is the only option left.
Back to reality now. I had a lovely walk yesterday with my Thursday group. It was the last one of the term so we went out for lunch afterwards at a Restaurant overlooking the sea and Lighthouse (Ann, out at Corbiere, as I am sure you will know where I mean).
Drizzly today and fog has disrupted flying but hopefully it will get back to normal as Daniel is flying out to Liverpool at 2pm. He is staying in Oldham and running the English Schools Cross Country Championships at Heaton Park in Manchester tomorrow afternoon. He won't mind the wet weather when running - it all adds to the fun.
So, I'm off to get some work done before he gets home from school. I wish everyone a lovely weekend, and Huia, I will be thinking of you on Sunday.
Debbie xx

Just a quickie as nearly time for bed.
Huia, glad the social worker calls on you sometimes, and great that you could help her re the organ donating. I seem to think my late Mum had her corneas given to someone - can't remember but she was 79 when she died so it was good if they could use them.
I have mentioned organ donation to my son, for me I mean, but he won't talk about it, doesn't like the idea at all. It was a few years ago, maybe I need to mention it again. I haven't put anything in my will about it or joined any lists etc. I did used to carry a card years ago when he was little but no idea where it is now. I suppose I should ask o.h.too while I am at it lol
Debbie, hope things went as well as funerals can, Sylvia, hope the bill at the dentist doesn't get any bigger, Mo take care with the moving job, don't pull anything or try to do too much. Sallie, good luck with the house viewing, I looked at dozens of houses when I last moved, and was about to have a survey done on one I was going to buy as a stopgap as I kept selling mine and couldn't find anything, when I spotted the one I have now advertised, saw it as the first viewer and snapped it up, altho it hasn't been a lucky house, it is in a better location than the stopgap one. Had to dash off to the Building Society saying stop the survey I have changed my mind lol Have a good day everyone, sorry to those I have missed out

Marie, I did google organ donation late last year and found that kidneys and liver (I think) are acceptable at any age if they are still healthy. Also skin. Corneas if healthy. I cant be absolutely sure I have remembered all those things correctly, but I have the info somewhere. I even printed it off for the social worker who was visiting for a while to make sure I was coping. She said some clients had asked her about organ donation and she didnt know the answer, so now she has it, thanks to my googling.

Hi Everyone,
Well, this the fourth time I written this post, lost it three times, so now I’m doing it in word, and then copy and paste it across to GR, with a lot of help from Alun. So I hope this works!
Debbie, it was a nice surprise to see that you had posted this morning. I hope that the funeral went off alright, and that your hubby wasn’t too upset. At least it looks as though the weather was bright and sunny for you all. I thought that both Daniel and Matthew might not have wanted to go to their Grandad’s funeral. Both Richard and Jennie were still at school when Alun’s Dad died, like you we gave them the choice of going to the funeral or not. They both chose not to go.
Sylvia, hope your physio went well today, and that you will soon feel the benefit of going there. Have you recovered from the shock of the cost of OH’s dental treatment yet? I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read how much you have to pay. I thought that the cost of dental treatment here in the UK was bad enough, but since knowing how much you all have to pay there, I won’t ever complain again. Hugs and kisses to baby MJ!
Liz, I know how you feel about your son looking for another job. I’m afraid our grown up children just don’t realise how much we worry about them. After watching the news earlier on this evening, Alun said that he can’t see Richard getting a job for a good while—I just hope that he’s wrong. I think Richard wishes that he had found a job when he finished doing his A levels, and not gone to University. After he got his degree, he found that employers wanted someone with at least two years work experience and it looks as though it’s still the same with a lot of Companies. It’s so much more difficult to get a job now, than when we were in our twenties. Anyway, I hope that your son will find a new job very soon. It’s good to hear that your OH is chirpy and happier since cycling to work each day. It's obviously doing him good, even though he's working longer hours.
Mo, hope all is well with both you and Roly today. How’s the weather been there today? It was cloudy here to start with, but brightened up later on this afternoon. We weren’t very impressed with the Estate Agent that came today—he didn’t seem all that interested in the house at all, he didn’t ask any questions about the house and he didn’t even measure any of the rooms. Alun and I are wondering if he ever manages to sell any houses as he just wasn’t ‘client friendly’ at all. In fact I’m thinking, how did he becomean Estate Agent in the first place. We were hoping that he would have told us today, how much the house is worth and also how much the fees will be, but apparently he had to work it all out, so will post it later on today. The Estate Agent that came yesterday was much better at her job. Alun and I are going to view a bungalow on Saturday morning-- it’s just a couple of roads down from where Jennie and Michael live. Sorry to ask, but have you had any news about your granddaughter and nephew, lately?
Ann, hope you and T are both okay.
Julia, hope all is well with you, and that we’ll hear from you soon.
Marie, how are things with you and your family. I hope all is well with you all.
Huia, have you heard if your son is coming to you on Sunday It would be lovely to have him with you for such a special day.
Jean and J, I hope you are enjoying your holiday, and that the weather is kind to you.
Marilyn, I also hope that both you and OH are well, and having a lovely holiday.
Speak to you soon.
Love and best wishes,
Sallie.xxx

Debbie, I hope all went well today for your family. I am sure you did the right thing letting the boys choose whether to go or not. We did the same with our grandsons for my dad's funeral (their gt grandpa), they also chose not to go. You will be able to charge for your tour rep services soon Lol!!! Glad Linda enjoyed herself.
Sylvia, Wow!! I thought our dental charges were bad enough, hope whatever he is having done lasts.
Mo well done for top average. Nice to be top in something!
Sallie, good luck with the bungalow. I don't want to even think about downsizing. We have 4 bedrooms here so have an 'office' each, it keeps us out of each others hair. I would hate to lose that. Make sure you get a good price for your dolls house, there are collectors about.

Crikey moses Sylvia, that was a flippin lot off money for your OH's teeth. And he has not even finished his treatment yet. Are the games still on over there.? Debbie,I hope today went off o.k,and that your OH coped. I was thinking off you all,and hoping and praying that it was not to much off a trial for the family. Nothing exciting been happening here today. I went up to town to meet friends for coffee this morning. It was glorious sunshine, and it was such a pleasure to be able to sit outside in the fresh air for a change. Tommorrow we have to help move our grandaughter to her new home. This is the grandaughter, that had the biopsy done before christmas. Still can't get anything out off her about it. So I am hoping and praying no news is good news. I hope you are all well, and those in the U.K are enjoying our pleasant weather, whilst it lasts. Bye for now girls, take care off yourselves. Love to all. Mo xxx

Hi all
the weather is lovely .... sunny and warm during the day at about 14 or 15C. This is supposed to last through the weekend, although the nights will be cold (1 or 2C) because the skies are cloudless.
J and MJ had their 7 day checkup earlier today .......... I got a message that everything is fine, although she was not expecting that the pain from the stitches would not be likely to go until the end of next week! She's been lucky .... never had stitches before!!
OH has to go back to the dentist tomorrow (Thursday) to have a temporary bridge installed ...... he presently has a gap in the teeth at the side of his right upper jaw. I'm hoping that this is included in the amount we've already paid, but won't know until tomorrow!
We're lucky in that we've been in this house since 1972. It is the Canadian style bungalow ...... main floor on one level, but with a basement 6-8' high where there is a fmaily room, work space, laundry room, etc.
The house was big enough for us as a 2-some when we bought it, for 3 when we had our daughter, and is a good size for us now that we are back to 2. We've done major renovations over the year, including building an extension ..... but it is still only 2 bedrooms!
I dread the thought of having to move from here after almost 40 years. Gawd, the things we have accumulated!!
Actually OH is on a clear out spree ..... he's going through lots of the stuff in the basement and getting rid of lots of things that we no longer need or use .......... like tourist brochures from UK, S Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Leningrad, etc in the 1970s that we kept as souvenirs and in case we went back.
If we ever get back to those countries, I'm sure there will be new brochures to read!!
Take care everyone
