you might also enjoy looking at Lunenburg, Nova Scotia ......... that's a World Heritage site because of all the old houses.
You could also look on this side, and trace the road north from Vancouver up to Whistler ........... and see where the Olympics have just been held!!

Mo
yes, we got several new photos yesterday
Jean .............. it is a beautiful little place, on a alrge bay that leads out to the Atlantic Ocean. It's sometimes known as the village of churches ................ there are 3 in a row that you can see from the car park across the bay from the village, then several others tucked away.
Yes the houses are all wood ...... that's the common building material in much of Canada.
You can find my house on google earth .... I'll send you a pm to tell you, rather do than put it out in the open on here!!

Sylvia, I have just been to Mahone Bay courtesy of Google maps, street level, it is very pretty place all the house and shops look to be wooden and such lovely colours the waterfront is great and looks to be very popular... I was suprised that the map took me there, so pleased I tried ,you will have to let me know of other places to see , I love the maps, most of the places I have visited are now street level, my own home is on now, and most of the folk I know....I love it.....nice to here your grandson is doing o.k. and hope you and your oh are well too.

Hi everyone
The weather has been lovely here ................. sunny and warm during the day although the nights have been colder, down to around 1 or 2C. So snuggle under the duvet!
Huia .... that's a lovely picture of you and Phil.
Not much is happening otherwise .... we're just motoring along, getting some things ready to take with us to NS when we go on April 8. Vancovuer is a much bigger city than Halifax, and daughter suually finds some things that she wants us to buy from Ikea (which they don't have), or from some other store!
MJ is doing well ..... he goes for his 2 week check up today. He had a checkp last Tuesday at 1 week because if the jaundice. J&M took him on his first outing on Sunday ........... a picnic at one of my favourite places (and theirs!). It's a small village called Mahone Bay, about an hour outside Halifax. A beautiful little place, with some wonderful artisan shops!
Take care everyone

Hello everyone. We lost at darts last night,so no trophy for little old me,boo hoo. Still it's one less thing to have to dust. lol Jean my love,I could never dry up. I could talk for England and more. I am so glad you renewed, coz I would miss you. But you would not get away from me that easily,I would bombard you with e.mails. Just think,I have not got darts for a couple off weeks, until the knockouts start,so you will have to put up with me on a Monday night as well. ha ha. I agree that the boards have been very slow lately. Apart from the controversial threads, that I read but do not take part in. Oh Liz,I see that mr misery has started again. Why is it always a womans fault when something goes missing. I bet you were p**ing your pants when the car didn't start,I know I would have been. It's bad enough when the car gets a scratch on it,and the inquisition starts as to how it got there. Where did you park the car,did you hit a post in the car park, did you let the shopping trolley hit the car. So now I check it before I get in it,and ask him where they have come from, before he goes at me. Hi ya Huia, hows you. How did Sunday go for you in the end. Did your son visit you in the end. Sallie,I had a postcard from my son this morning. They are in St Andrews at the moment, but intend to go to Blackpool,on Friday for a couple off days. I have suggested that they only book in for two days,as nothing is open up there at the moment, apart from if they go to the pleasure beach. And they both enjoy the rides,so no doubt will enjoy themselves anyway. He tells me that their fingers have not defrosted since they have been in Scotland. But it wont be any warmer for them in Blackpool either. When they get back they have both got to start searching for another job. If it were me,in their position,I would not have gone away, I would have saved the money for somewhere to live. But there you go,thats when age comes into it doesn't it. See you all later. Love Mo xxx

Hi Everyone,
Huia, I loved your wedding photo and your dress looks lovely. Have you made your own clothes over the years. I use to make a lot of clothes for other people, especially for my niece, but didn't make any for myself. But it's years since I've made anything, although I did make the ring cushion for Jennie's wedding. Hope you are alright, and that Phil was as well as you can expect when you last seen him.
Jean, I also thought it's been a bit quiet on the boards over the last few days. I'm still busy making cards for the load of March birthdays we have. I've got two left to do, for my brother's birthday on Saturday. I've become addicted to cardmaking, the trouble is I don't want to do other things, like h-------k etc, etc. I must be get lazier as I get older! Hope you've has peace and quiet from ' her next door ' over the last last few days. Jennie seems to be going on alright with her new medication. Thank you for asking. She still hasn't started on making cards yet, I think she'd like to come over here when she starts makin them so that she can use my crafting things.
Mo, how did your team get on at darts last night ? I hope you all did well enough to win. Has your son and his girlfriend arrived home from Scotland yet? I hope things are starting to get sorted for him. I must go now, Jennie and Michael have just arrived, so I'll speak to you all later on.
Love, Sallie xxx

Morning all, quite a bit colder today but fine.... the boards seem very quite at the moment, perhaps folk were out and about in the sun , we have to grab it while we can....I think the harsh winter we have had has slowed not only the plants down but us too....lol...but we have hopefully a lovely warm summer to look forward to. we will be putting the clocks forward soon, that always makes me feel so much alive, wish we had summertime all the year round....
Liz, you do seem to be in a no win situation, hope things get better for you soon, love and (((((((((( X )))))))))))))
Hiua, How are you getting on, are you back singing, we all loved your diary, can we have some more please..xxx
Sylvia, havent said hi, for a while sorry, we watched the paralympics it brings us down to earth when we moan about our aches and pains they were wonderful to see,..... what is your weather like now? we are very slowly getting better here although each day can be different... take care...
Sally, I said I would get onto the police and her landlord, she is only eighteen, one day she moved in heavily pregnant, and has a little boy now, seems its the norm now for young girls to get pregnant and get all the freebies and benefits, sad really she should be out with her friends. Alun hit the nail on the head, my Jeff says the same thing , D on the other hand has a lot of sympathy with her not me though I cant do with her at all or her noisy mates....lol....but we will have to put up with it .... good excuse to have more hols ....How is your Jennie getting along, hope the medication has kicked in and helping her...is she doing her cards yet, I will pop a few more mags in the post for you both ...
Mo, my little darts champion... how are you? dont you dry up on me, no chat for a while, Have I renewed in vain, only did it for you, so if you are not going to chat to me I will send you the bill....lol...
Hope you are all living well and doing the best you can, chin up or in my case chins up...lol...~~~~~~~~~ to Ann, Debbie , Marie, Julie and anyone who would like one~~~~~~

Hi Huia, well he said it would do, and I have a feeling I have done it before and he has told me it would run the battery down, even think i did it with my own car years ago.
Can you believe the idiot spent time looking for the key first of all, then took mine off my keyring (and didn't bother putting it back, just slung it on the shelf) went out and found the key in the ignition and the battery dead! It's lucky the car is on the dhared drive next to this house and next door and in a cul de sac we only usually get people down here who should be here, not passers by or gangs of youths, otherwise the car might have gone completely!
I think problem is the correct word Huia, he is one big problem! He is so dopey he couldn't organise a booze up in a brewery!
Hope you are ok - did your son get to visit you or his Dad?

Liz, I was told that leaving the inside light on in the car would not drain the battery overnight. Ours has been on overnight a few times and we had no trouble starting the vehicle in the morning. Now headlights, that would be a different matter.
My sympathies to you with your problems. Or should that be problem?
Huia.

Lovely photos of Huia and Phil, that's something I can never leave my son, as I never made anything legal lol
Bit tired tonight as got up early, o.h. was supposed to go to his father's and then back in time to wake me with a cuppa to go out to a National Trust place in Norfolk for the freebie visit. I heard lots of clomping about, had already been woken by neighbour and small grandson shouting, that child has never been taught to speak at a normal volume, he always yells, and then thought I heard o.h. go. I was already thirsty so thought I would get myself a drink and go back to sleep for a couple more hours. Went down to see o.h. in a real paddy, asked why he hadn't gone out and he said the car wouldn't start, the battery was flat! My heart sank as the other week I left the inside light on in the car, by mistake, and if the neighbour hadn't knocked and told me the light was on, he would have had to charge the battery. Then I remembered he used the car last this time - phew! My sigh of relief was in vain, this is a man who keeps jump leads in the garage not in the car (say no more!!!!) and despite my efforts to keep a set in the boot, for emergencies, they weren't there. He had obviously used them and put them somewhere and couldn't remember where, and in hunting for them, found some bags of my papers that I hadn't sorted but had put in the garage temporarily. He was fuming with me as he said the leads were behind the bags, but I think he must have dropped them behind there as I wouldn't have put the bags on top of them. I got it in the neck and he was yelling and shouting at me and as I was tired, I got upset. It turns out the stupid man came home from work on Saturday in the car, and left the key in the ignition, not properly turned off, so he hadn't locked the car and the battery was flat. He couldn't visit his father and was mad at me, I was tired and upset and the last thing I felt like was going out!
After a while he calmed down, charged the car up as the neighbour had gone out so he couldn't get a jumpstart, and I did get ready and we went to the Nat. Trust place which was a lovely old hall, and beautful grounds not far from Cromer where we went for Mother's Day. He even managed to take a wrong exit off a roundabout that he has driven round a million times and then I had to direct him, he couldn't remember us going that way just a week ago. I think his memory is getting worse and I can't stand the thought of being stuck with him if he loses his memory much more, it's a nightmare as it is reminding him of everything and then having to repeat myself constantly, I can't relax at all. He is only 56.

Hello Girls,
Jean, couldn't you get the police to those inconsiderate and noisy people next door? Surely, something can be done to stop them having the all night parties that they seem to hold on a regular basis. She's also got a lot of cheek borrowing cigs off D, as you say she's got a shock coming to her. I've just told Alun about her, he said, ' Oh she not only doesn't considerate her neighbours, but she's a scrounger too'. I'm certain he's right!
Mo, I'm pleased that you enjoyed reading my ' book ', at least it giave you something to read and savesd you the cost of buying one. Alun, Jennie and Michael have done nothing but take the mick out of me today. They find it really funny that I wrote so much, 6029 characters. Oh well, I don't mind them laughing at me, as I laugh at myself . Mo can you please tell me where Huia has posted her and Phil's wedding photo, I would love to see it, but I don't know what she means by the 'photo page'.
I'm off to finish the card I'm making, so I'll speak to you all later.
Love, Sallie xxx

Huia, what a lovely wedding photograph. Your cake looked so good as well. Did you keep a layer off it for when the children came along. I hope your day was not to traumatic. Thank goodness we have got our Jean for at least another six months girls. We would miss her, that I do know. And I have got six months to tease her, yippee. Jean,I think we should all come up to your house, and have an all night party,to keep your unsociable neighbour awake. Don't worry,we will start the music up very loud. Put tapes on off people shouting and enjoying themselves. Then we will lock up,and all go to a hotel for the night. See how much she enjoys that, nasty nasty woman. I hate people who are borrowers, and non returners. I dare say most off us have met someone like that during our lifetimes. My mum always said,"never a borrower or a lender be", and that is so true. Yes Jean,Marilyn is still away. She logged onto the friendlies thread, yesterday. But the internet connection,on board the ship is not very good,so she went to an internet cafe,in I believe it was Aukland. She has not run off with the ships captain, she says he is not really her type. lol Sylvia, I believe that a lot off health food shops over here, sell elder flower cordial. We also have a lot off Ikea shops here now. They were not so well known when they first opened though, but now, my goodness, they do a roaring trade. How much weight has young Matthew gained now.? I bet he is coming on in leaps and bounds. Ann, is it next weekend that you start your holiday.? Are you all packed and ready to go. I do hope he weather over there has brightened up for you. Sallie I love to read all your news, keep it up please. As I feel like you are sitting in the room with me when I read your books....ahem I mean news. It's your turn to be teased today,if you notice. lol Bye for now girls,I will pop back later this evening. Love to all. Mo xxx

Huia, the photo looks lovely and your dress was beautiful,
Sallie, dont apologise for writing I love to read all the news , I have just found another pile of craft mags, we managed to get up int the eves were they were stored along with all sorts of rubbish, it is fun looking at them all, most of them were when I srated card making, 2005 onwards, and I have to say basic card making hasnt changed much, only now its more designer stuff...
J and I would have loved a bungalow, but that was before D came to live with us after her divorce, and she is still here !! S thankfully moved out some years ago.....I so wish we could move, the noisy one next door has no idea how to be a neighbour, 6.30 this morning music on full shouting over it... now its all quite .D said our other neighbour went and played eck when we were away, another all night get together....so I am npw as stressd as I was before we went !!! I had a word with her before we went and she promised to be more aware of the folk around her,,, and she has started borrowing , cigs of D using the phone offering to pay but never does, so she is in for a big shock when We say no when she asks again... but it does cause a lot of upset....
Now where is our leader, come on Mo, dont think you can hide away now I am back...btw, I have renewed, just to keep you on your toes....lol....
Liz thanks for the message, I will answer you soon , when I finally finish the unpacking, is it worth it I ask myself.... so loads of washing also...
Is Marilyn still away? Debbie, are the daffs out yet? usually there are pics on the tv showing flowers from Jersey, but things seem to be later this year....today is lovely here after the awful rain yesterday, hope it last a nother week, we will most likely have the odd day out....
Big (((((((((((((( X )))))))))))) to Marie ,sylvia Ann, and anyone else i have missed....

Hi everyone
Huia ........ love and hugs for today. I hope you managed to find something fun to do. ((((((((xxxx)))))))
We went to Ikea this morning .............. but only to the little shop. A friend we stayed with on our last visit to England in 2008 introduced me to Elderflower cordial. I really liked it, but had never heard of it before, nor of course seen it over here. Then I saw an Ikea ad saying they were stocking it in their shop. I bought a couple of bottles when we went there in early February, now I need a re-stocking :)) So I persuaded OH to drive me down there.
Sallie ...... MJB was doing well when I talked to J the other day, he had his first checkup last Tuesday, and checked out well. J was disappointed to be told it could take to the end of next week before her pain went away!

Hi Sallie,I really enjoyed your novel. I think your fingers must ache now.LOL. I remember your saying now, that the therapist didn't want to see you for a week. Honestly, the older I get the worse I get. The bungalow you looked at sounds delightful. Two bedrooms is plenty enough for you, isn't it. Is the garden a good size as well. I think most people change the kitchens when they move, don't they. It's nice to start from scratch. It's funny you know,I saw my grandaughters, younger sister today. And when I told her about her sister ringing her grandad, and what it was for,she could not believe it. She called her a silly so and so,and said she is old enough to stand on her own two feet so why isn't she. This is coming from a 17yr old,who has more sense than a 23yr old. You are so right about the younger generation, needing support constantly. We never hear from her unless she wants something or another. As much as I love her,I feel like giving her a shake some times.
