Hello girls. Sallie I was shocked like you, to read about Joyce. If she had been in this country, Jan could have taken her to the hospital, and demanded that they get her sorted out as soon as possible. The poor woman has had so many problems recently, it just seems so unfair.
Well girls, I have had a bit of a bad day myself. I have had to have an emergency appointment with my doctor. She was not sure if I have had a deep vein thrombosis. I was sent straight to a specialist unit, where they did a blood test, that came back negative. But as she is not certain, I have to go for a scan on my leg tommorrow. She thinks there may be a problem with the veins in my leg, as they are very varicosed. I also had to have an injection in my stomach, and have to have another one tommorrow. The injection is to thin the blood. If it is a DVT, I will know tommorrow, and then have to have more injections, and go onto Warfarin, which I do not reaaly want to do. So I am sitting here with my legs elevated, and my lappy on my lap. Not a very comfortable way of typing I can assure you. Roly has been very good, and cooked fish and chips for dinner, and is running around after me. Bless him.
Well ladies, I will speak to you tommorrow, after I have been for my scan. Love to all. Mo xxx

Hi Everone,
This is a very lonely thread. Where's everyone gone?
I've just been reading Yorkshire Caz's thread about Joyce. I really hope that she's going to be alright---just think that maybe the doctor should have sent her to hospital, so that they can find out what the problem really is. Anyway Joyce, I hope that you'll be much better very soon. Caz if you are reading this, thank you for letting us all know about her, as we all know that you are poorly yourself.
Mo, Jean and everyone else, I hope that you're all okay. I'll look in again later today, while the internet seems to be working.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hi Everyone,
Just hoping that the internet won't go off before I get this message done and sent to you all.
Joyce, I know you won't be on here until you are better, but I really hope that the doctor will be able to diagnose what the problem is and will give you something so that you'll soon feel better. I'm thinking about you, we miss seeing your messages on here. Also hope all is well with Jan. I'll send you a pm over the next day or two. I know that you won't be on the computer until you are better, but can read it when you feel like it.
Mo, nice to hear that you and Roly are back to normal. I'm sure you enjoyed your game of darts at the pub yesterday.
When do you start playing the darts matches, again? It can't be too long now, if I remember rightly. Once the schools start back, all the other things start to get back to normal, too.
Have you heard how your nephew is lately? Just wondering how he's getting on, as we haven't heard anything about him for a while. I hope things are going along alright for him.
Jean, it will be great for you to go to D's graduation ceremony with J. You'll both feel so very proud of her. I know that you and J are already proud of what she's achieved, but it will be the 'icing on the cake' , to see her in her cap and gown.
When do you and J go away again? I know you told us, but my memory is not as good as it was.lolol!!
Huia, did you enjoy your day with your visitors? I hope you managed to get the washing up done before they arrived. I hope that Phil will be awake and more alert when you next visit him.
Marie, lovely to hear from you. I bet that you're really looking forward to your holiday in a couple of weeks time.
I'm feeling a lot better, but I still have a little bit of a down day now and again, although I seem to be able to get over it a lot easier now. So that's one good thing.
Debbie, hope things are all okay with you and your family. Do the children start back to school this week?
Liz, I hope that you are starting to feel better and that things have settled down after the wedding. Also hope that your OH is feeling better.
Ann, it's nice to know that you are having lovely weather in Tenerife, it's been pouring with rain here since about tea time. Typical, British weather.lol!
I hope that Sylvia and OH are enjoying a nice peaceful time at the cabin. Let's hope that the weather will be alright while they're there.
Speak to you all soon.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Yes, Mo, I got rid of the mice (as far as I know anyway, but expect there will be more).
Liz sent me a PM yesterday. I think the wedding exhausted her mentally as well as physically. I feel like that sometimes, cant be bothered doing things. I have seen her on another thread.
Better go, my sister and her husband will be coming to visit today and I havent done the breakfast dishes and I have to sweep the floor. It is covered in rubbish which came off my clothes after a scramble up in our ceiling a couple of days ago.
Huia.

Glad you are not in Christchurch Huia.

Thank goodness you are safe and sound Huia. The trouble with us over here is, that we are geographically challenged, and don't exactly know the layout of NZ. Now we more or less know the layout of this country, and whenever something happens here, we know roughly where it is, so please forgive our ignorance. Ahh bless Phil falling asleep during his dinner. Boredom must have a lot to do with it, plus his medication. It would be so nice for you to be able to spend a whole day with him. You could have a nap in your vehicle, if he dozes of to sleep. Have you got rid of your mice yet. I meant to ask you before, but I kept forgetting. And how is it going in the shop. Do they leave you to get on with it now, or are they still training you.
Jean of course you must go to D's graduation ceremony, if you feel up to it. When we went to our daughters, we felt very emotional, but oh so proud. It was just a shame that Dame Kelly Holmes, was given degree at the same ceremony. She had not worked for it, like all the other students. I hope that J is well, also D.
Hi Sallie, yes we are back to normal now. I went up to the club with Roly today, for a game of darts. It was so nice to be able to relax, and not have to worry about getting home to prepare a meal for our grandaughter. I have not heard a thing from her or my daughter since she went home. I hope they sort your internet connection out soon, this has been going on for some time now hasn't it.
Well Debbie, have to children gone back to school yet, or is it this coming week they go back. Some children from our area, went back last thursday and friday, but the rest start back tommorrow. It must cost you a fortune in new school clothes. I know it cost enough when my five were at school, but the prices have risen so much. It's o.k if the schools allow the uniforms that you can buy reasonably, at some local supermarkets. But the expense come in when they have to have special gear for their sport. I know that my youngest son had to have rugby shirts, which we bought, but he never ever wore the darn things. They were the reverseable colour ones, so that they could play their own school ,but be on different sides. You ony had to turn them inside out if you see what I mean.
I hope all is well with Liz, as we have not heard from her for a while. Sylvia and Ann are both on holiday, so I hope they are enjoying themselves
Well girls I will away to the kitchen now, to put the kettle on. ( don't know if it will fit me though ) Love and best wishes to you all. Mo xxx

Sallie, our son and d-i-l live in Rotorua which is a 3 hour drive from here. It takes much longer to drive down to Wellington then get the ferry across Cook Straight then drive down to Chch, so we are all well away.
Phil was rather sleepy when I visited today. They brought his lunch on a tray and he started feeding himself but kept dropping asleep and one time his hand finished up in his mashed food (no teeth). I gave up after an hour and came home. One of these days I will get organised to spend the whole day there. If he is asleep I will go out to our vehicle and read for a while then go back in to see if he is awake. It would be interesting to know what he does all the time.
Must get the fire lit now and then get my dinner.
Huia.

Oh Huia, I'm so pleased to know that you didn't have the earthquake. I was fairly certain that you live in Aukland, but then I started to think that maybe I was wrong. What about your son and daughter-in-law? I know they live a good distance from you, but I can't remember where. I hope that they are okay where they live.
Hope you find that Phil is awake and alert when you visit him today.
Take care!
Mo and Jean, sorry I haven't been on here today, we're still having problems with the internet. So if I'm missing for a few days, it's because of this stupid internet.
Mo, have you got back to normal now? I should think that you're ready for a few days rest. We had cheese and potato pie yesterday, it was a nice change.
Jean, how are you today? I'm wondering if you've made a start on your Christmas cards yet?
Well I hope to speak to you all tomorrow.
Take care everyone!
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hello girls.
We are a looooooooong way from Christchurch, didnt feel a thing. We are near Auckland. When we were touring the South Island about 30 yrs ago we were camped in Chch one night and in the morning when we were getting breakfast we felt an earthquake, nowhere near as big as the one they have just had, but it shook our campervan which was sitting on 3 legs. A couple sleeping in a pup tent didnt feel a thing. We have in the past felt several small earthquakes up here in the Hunua hills.
There are a couple of threads on Chat about the earthquake.
Huia. (off soon to visit Phil)

Hello girls, I hope you will excuse the smell of disinfectant, bleach, polish, I tried to get the cobwebs away from my lappy, the spiders had made a home on the keyboard. Nearly back to normal, thank the lord. I found dirty tops wrapped up in her bedding, deodorant spray, under the bedside table, god knows when she last used that. The bedding had to go on a boil wash to get the make-up of. I must go and try to fill the freezer and food cupboard up tommorrow. My word, I don't know how my grandaughter can eat as much as she does, and still remain a tiny wee thing. I did a roast dinner on tuesday, and Roly complained that I had put five roast potato's on his plate. My grandaughter had seven, plus meat and 5 different vegetables. Followed by a big plate of ice-cream. Twenty minutes later, she was tucking into a big box of wine gums, and she finished the lot. At ten that night she was eating a pot noodle.
Don't forget your netbook Ann. It will be nice to hear how your holiday is going. It will also cheer us up, if our weather turns cold. We may be envious of you, but we will definately wish you a lovely time. As for getting my sanity back, hmmmm I never had it in the first place.lol
Sallie that cheese and potato pie was simply delicious. Are you going to make one for your dinner tonight. Yes grandaughter did stay here last night. She went up to bed at 11.10 after big brother, and her mum woke her up by ringing her at 9.10 this morning. I have never seen her move so fast, bless her she was so pleased to see her mum.
I had better go for now, as I must finish the cleaning. I will be back later. Love to you all. Mo xxx

Hello all, sorry to have been away for so long. I have had so many appointments to keep Blood tests x-rays Physio and to-day and Eye specialist as well. I am now over the awful chest cold I had and my back is a little better,I went to the gym on tuesday and thursday only to walk up & down in the pool.i am almost there with the organising of my gear for the trip to Italy,my bed is covered with bits & pieces all ready for packing, only 2 weeks & 2 day to go. Has Jean been sick I noticed that you sent her some flowers or has she had a birthday, If you are looking in Jean I hope all is well with you Ann I hope you have a great holiday and it sounds like you had a wonderful anniversary. Hello Sallie it sounds like you are very busy, it is good to hear you sounding so happy again . From a few things I picked up there must have been some fireworks at the wedding I must find the time to read LIZ's thread. Dear Mo ,Teenagers are very tiring and rather thoughtless but you can'.help loving them and as you know they do grow out of their rather thoughtless ways given time lol. Dutch I will try to find some time to email you ,I hope you and Jan are ok. I will say good bye Love to you all. Oops I almost forgot Hello Huia and also Sylvia I hope you are enjoying your break up in the hills LOL. Ann, just want to say, I hope that you and T will have a lovely holiday.Have a safe journey and take care. We shall miss you over the weeks that you're away.
Mo, it's lovely to see you back to your usual self again. I wonder if your granddaughter will do as her mum told her and stay with you tonight. I can understand that she can't wait to see her family after not seeing them for ten days. I know you said that while they're at home they argue---but you know the saying, 'absence makes the heart grow fonder'.
Did you get the cheese and potato pie done for dinner. We all like cheese and potato pie, so I think that's what I'll make for dinner tomorrow. Thanks for giving me that idea, Mo. We haven't had that for a good while, so it will make a change.
Jean, I've sent you a PM, the internet lasted long enough so that I could finish the message this time.
Dutch, pleased to hear that Jan is alright and has nothing to worry about. Also pleased that the doctor is going to sort your problem out. So put your feet up and relax. Take care.!
I'll speak to you all tomorrow.
Goodnight everyone, sweet dreams. Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hello my lovely friends. I have raised the flags outside, in readiness for tommorrow. One of my daughters has taken my grandaughter, down to the college this afternoon, for her enrolment day. She had a bright idea last night, shall I sleep down at mum and dads tommorrow night, so that I can surprise them when they get home. Hmmm I don't think so. Her mum has already told her, she has to wait here till they have woken up. They wont get home till between 2 and 3a.m I don't think they will be at all pleased if she does the surprise. I know she can't wait to see them, but when they are all home together, there is nothing but arguments all round. Mmmm Kids.
Well how the devil are you all. I have not had much time to speak to you all over the last ten days. I have been reading, when I can. But it's awkward trying to put my feelings down on here with my grandaughter watching me constantly.
Oh Huia, what a shame there was no sound to the movie. It would have been nice to see if Phil actually converses with the staff, and other guests. Are you sure Phil was winking at the carers, and didn't have a bit of dirt in his eye.lol
Sylvia, I hope you have got plenty of new batteries for your radio. You need to be able to keep up to date with all the latest news, as far as Nova Scotis is concerned. I hope the family stay safe. And that you both enjoy yourself at the cabin.
Oooh Ann, me garrulous never. Mouthy, saucy, full of chat ,oh my lord, you got me in one word. Are you and T ready for the off then. All the packing done, plasters, bandages, headache tablets for T,lol, foam rubber for protection, should you drink the falling down water. I sincerely hope you have a wonderful time, and we will miss you.
Sallie, I have bought myself a new hair dye, all ready for putting on,on saturday. Got to get rid of all this grey, or else our Jean will only take the mickey out of me. Hows everyone at home. Any news on Richard workwise. I just wish you were nearer, my sons store are advertising for staff. They have had three leave, they did not like having to work sundays. But as my son said, a jobs a job, and when you have been out of work, you are grateful for any kind of work thats a going.
Jean, good to hear from you love. It's nice to hear that you liked the flowers. I hope that they will lighten your life. How are J and D. It will be so nice when we see you posting more often, we do so miss your cheeky smile, and your quips.
A big thank you to Joyce, for doing all the organising on our behalfs.
Well girls, I have to go. I must make a cheese and potato pie for tea tonight But first, I will do a Sallie, and have a cup of tea. Love and best wishes to you all. Mo xxx
