Ann, at first I was thinking about buying the Cuttlekids for Chloe, but because she like's to die cut as well as emboss, it wouldn't be any good. She's only eight, but can use my Cuttlebug very easily and carefully, so thought that the Sidekick would be great for her.
You are very organised Ann, all your cards and now the scrapbook finished. Although I'm doing some cards, I need to be doing a lot more, so I'd better start moving a lot quicker than I am.
I'm sure your grandson will love the scrapbook, it will be something for him to keep and treasure all his life.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Huia, I don't blame you drawing the line at fleas, oh the thought of them is awful. I'm glad you enjoyed the concert, it sounds as though you jad a lovely day, especially the afternoon. I'm all for being able to eat out, it's great not having to cook and clear up after the meal.
For a year or so, Alun and I lived in Beckenham in Kent, and the first flat we had there turned out to have fleas. Such a shame really, because it was a lovely two bedroom big flat, but of course, there was no way we would stay there with there being fleas there. So a day or two later, we moved to another one in the next road, it was much smaller but minus the " wildlife ", thank goodness!
Mo, that's okay, I've been so tired today, that I slept a bit this afternoon, so didn't get on here until this evening. How is your son now ? I hope he doesn't have too much trouble with it now, as he used to have.
Poor Joyce, she must be in some pain to have to go to bed, although I know the doctor gave her some tablets, but they don't always seem to work for her.
Michael also has trouble with his back. I hope his won't get too bad for a long while yet, he's 25. Well there's not a lot we can do about it, so no good worrying too much, we'll have to wait and see,
Love, Sallie. xxx

Poor Joyce, that does sound painful.
Sallie I have finished the scrap book. He will get it at Christmas when we next see him - he is the one at Uni - but it is for his 21st at the beginning of December. I am very pleased with it.
I am sure chloe will be grateful for the Sissix sidekick. perhaps she will let you use it too!!!

When I visited Phil he was eating a banana. He is a very slow eater. When he finally finished that he was given a drink of cordial or fruit juice, not sure which. The hour spent visiting consisted of watching him eat and drink!
I visited my daughter for a short time. Later on in the day I realised my backside was covered in flea bites. She has 2 dogs indoors, and I understand there are 2 cats too, though I never see them. I must tell her to do something about the fleas. It is one thing to be an animal lover, but I draw the line at fleas.
The concert was good, all French composers. The choir sang in French although it is not a language a lot of us speak. The organist was great and the sound was marvellous. The afternoon tea (at 5pm) was good too! I didnt need to cook anything when I got home just after 6.

Hello again girls. I have been trying to get back on here for some time now,but the site was saying it was closed for maintenance. My word, what do they class as maintenance, if this mess up thats been occuring since last Friday is anything to go by.
I missed you Sallie, sorry about that, but thanks for the update on Joyce. My father in law suffered from crumbling vertebrae, and was in considerable pain as well. They put him on high strength painkillers, it only deadened the pain, but did not cure it. I don't think that even in this day and age, they can do much about it. My son had two discs replaced in his spine, and he was only 30 at the time. We did wonder if it is inherited,as Roly has got similar problems with his spine.
Well my lovelies, I will say goodnight god bless you all. Love Mo xxx

HI All,
Just to let you all know that Dutch rang me last night, she's still in a lot of pain with her back, according to her scan results, the bones in her back are crumbling, so I don't know if they'll be able to do anything to help her. They had been out yesterday to a garden centre to buy a new artificial Christmas tree, so she had to go to bed when she got back. In fact she was still in bed when she rang me.Let's hope that she will feel a bit better soon.
Oh Sylvia, you make me feel cold just reading about you having snow. That's the trouble now, we are at the start of our winter, so are a bit envious of both Huia and Marie, with them being at the start of summer. Still the seasnons come and go for all of us, I suppose.
Mo, I can see that you had your youngest grandchildren yesterday, it's lovely to have them to visit but can be very tiring.
We had Chloe from after school on Friday, until last night, it was lovely having her to stay but I didn't have a minute to myself, so I've been tired all day today.lol! At least Chloe has finished making all her Christmas cards now, so she was happy about that. Yesterday morning she had me dancing to a couple of songs by Lady Gaga, if someone had had a camera, what a sight.lolol!! Of course we went over to Jennie and Michael, so once Jennie knew that Chloe liked Lady Gaga, she put one of her cd's on for her to listen to. Oh what it would be to be young again.lolol!!
Huia, it always happens to us the same way, if we've been busy and need to tidy up the place, someone usually calls to see us. That's happened to us a few times over the years. Never mind, I'm sure that as long as they have a welcome and a nice cup of tea or coffee, then they're happy.
Did you go and see Phil? If you did I hope he was awake when you got there, and that he was okay. Hope you enjoyed the visit to see your daughter and also enjoyed the concert you went to at 3pm.
Jean, how are you doing with your Cuttlebug---have you made any cards using it, yet? The samples you sent were lovely, I need to get a few more things for my Cuttlebug, but I'll wait until after Christmas now.
Alun and I are going to buy Chloe the Sizzix Sidekick for Christmas. She loves to make cards, and is very good using my Cuttlebug, so after chatting to her mum Laura about it, we both thought that she would love to have one, and feel sure that she will use it. Anyone would think that she was my granddaughter.
Ann, have you finished the Scrapbook for your grandson yet? Sorry, I can't remember if it's for his birthday or Christmas. Hope that you and T are both feeling better and that you have got rid of your coughs.
Tess, like you I'm not too fond of the snow. I'm always frightened of falling in it, especially when there isn't much down and it's mostly icy.Poor Alun, I must hurt his arm, the way I hang on to it, I feel sorry for him at times.lol!
Sending thoughts to Marie and Liz, and hope that you are both okay. Hope I haven't forgotten anyone.
Well I'm going for a shower now, as I want to see a programme at nine, so I'll speak to you all soon.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxxx

I hope that you get some clear days long before spring. Otherwise it will be a very looong winter.
Crossing my fingers that your kitchen is fit for use very soon.

Hi all
big shock overnight
woke up this morning to
................... about 7 cm of snow at the house, more elsewhere in the city!
The temperature has risen to about 3 or 4C, but there's still about 4 cm or so of snow left on the ground ....... and I think it is going to lie there for some days yet as the temperature is forecast to keep falling until Tuesday, when it will be a high of -7C.
No forecast for further than that!
hibernation time I think!

Good evening Huia, or should I say good morning. Like you, I seem to get caught short when I am in my worst state of dress. Some Sundays if we are not going out, I like to stay in my night clothes and dressing gown ( I do have a bath and change before bed I might add) and many a time someone has turned up for Roly. I get him to open the door, whilst I scamper upstairs out of sight. Lazy really but I bet a lot more people do it than admit to it. I hope you find Phil fit and well, and that you enjoy your visit to your daughter.
I have had the two youngest grandchildren here today. Phew, I must be getting old, they have worn me out. They like to take the mickey out of grandad,as he has no hair, and they find it so funny. If only they had seen him when he was younger and had a full head of hair. When I showed them photo's of him in the 70's with long hair, they would not believe that it was him, they thought it was their dad, before he had a haircut.
I hope you are all well. Take care, I will be back tommorrow. Love Mo xxx

Yesterday afternoon I was just thinking of having a shower and washing my hair, as I had been doing a spot of gardening. I came inside to cool down first and then there was a knock at the door, 4.30 pm. It was some former neighbours who now live about 2 hours drive away. Not only was the house an utter mess, but I was braless which I am sure they noticed when we hugged. But at least I had a skirt and t-shirt on, which I dont always when I feel hot! We chatted for about 30 mins and then they went.
Today I am planning to visit Phil before lunch, then go to Pukekohe to visit my daughter, then go to a concert at 3pm, the Pukekohe Community choir.
Better get on and do the breakfast dishes now.
Huia.

Hello all, its a very tired Marie here I have been in the garden the past 2 days so I am a bit sun burnt even though I had a large hat on my head. It is another lovely sunny day to-day but no sun for me . I went into town and got some groceries as i was out of most things.I defrosted my freezer as it had become full of ice I had to make way for the new food.
I too am finding it hard to get up when I have been down on my haunches the knees complain and also my left hip sad isn't it , old age is not for the faint hearted.
How are you Sallie, and how is your daughterI guess it is getting cold in your neck of the woods. Dear Joyce,I do hope your health improves and the pain lessens my prayes will be for you to-night .Mo has all the painting finished in your house. My native garden is looking nice but there is still a lot more to be done to it, when we get all the rocks in and the wet area filled I will take some Photos of it and pass them on. Liz I hope you are well .Debbie I guess you are busy as usual.
We are having a film crew out here to-morrow Victoria has been part of an ongoing study for the school this year some thing like a year in the life of a student . All students were given a notebook (laptop) to help them in their studies so to-morrow they are going to film life at home and because Victoria has lost so much school this year the angle will be how it has helped her to keep up with her studies. Victoria has been chosen to receive a special reward at their Presentation night, she also has her class social which she is looking forward too I do hope she will be better as she had a bad night last night. Hi Ann how are you still doing your cards, you and Jean are sooo clever, I havent even thought about Xmas cards yet, I seem to be getting slower at everything.
Huia & Tess, Hello to you both nice to read your posts and yes I also had a giggle at your descriptions I must say goodbye as I intend cooking for the family to-night Love and hugs to you all even if I didn't mention your name. Marie

Tess, I didnt realise you were talking about getting up off a chair. I havent had that problem - as yet. My knees are not too bad, just slightly sore when I went down some steps a little while ago, but no real problems. Those very high steps on that walk I try not to use, and like a lot of other people I go up and down the sloping ground at the side. Much use of that has made a lot of small steps, but it is a bit uneven which is why I lost my balance and sat down. I dont seem to be quite a steady on my pins as I used to be, but then I am getting old, soon will reach the three quarters of a century mark :(((

The "exercise" I told Huiaabout is a method of getting up from a chair easily. A physio told me about it.
I have to admit that on the very few occassions I have done this in public, I have had a lot of funny looks!
But it does work... and doesn't hurt the knees.
Huia, I don't think that I would be able nowadays to go up or down steps, which had a 15 inch rise. Would have to come down sitting on my sit- upon! Don't know how I would manage to climb up such high steps.
You did well, to even attempt it. Hope that your kness (and all your other body parts) are ok now.

Well girls, nothing much has changed on here has it. And I bet the site has been bombarded by loads of angry members. We have had the invisble people posting, and lots of folks have lost their own special logo's deleted. Ah well thats life.
Oh Tess, I thought you were starting an excercise class, when I read of your getting up process. I could just imagine poor Huia trying to do it. LOL I think we are all in the same boat,as far as when we get up from the kneeling positition, or even sitting in a chair. Thank the lord for long handled mops, and brooms. But when it comes to using the dust pan and brush,it's a nightmare. I spotted a long handled brush and dustpan the other day, in Wil*o's,I think I will invest in one next time I go there.
Marie, I am so sorry to hear about Kathleen and Victoria. It's high time they sorted both of them out, it's not like this has only just happened, it's been an ongoing problem for a little while now. What vegetables are you hoping to grow in your garden. Mind you, it's your summer now isn't it,so you could grow a lot of salad stuff.
Well my lovelies, I am going to do a Sallie, and make a cup of tea now. I will be back later. Love Mo xxx
