Hi Mo, and everyone xxx
Joyce .. today will have been a hard day for you (((xxx)))
Lovely to see you Caz ....... I'm the one in Canada, but I was born and grew up in Lancashire.
It rained all night here, and we woke up to a rain warning!
Sorry to hear of all the problems with the snow ........ I think we're going to be in for a bad winter all over. We had all that snow last week ...... and Vancouver doesn't often get snow, and very very rarely as early as November 19!
We're busy trying to do our cards and letters ..................... OH does a draft letter, I edit, add and change, andI find 3 or 4 photos to include. Then I do the set-up, and print off the number we will need. OH meanwhile signs the cards, writes Dear xxxx and signs the letter and may add a handwritten note. He also has checked the addresses and printed off the labels. He will pull out any ones that he thinks I might want to add to. Then he takes them all to the Post Office and mails them out.
We send out about 110 cards every year, and about 100 of them will contain a letter ....... which is why we stopped hand writing letters! It is the only way that we keep contact with a lot of our friends and family members ....... and so many of them are spread around the world now.
I haven't got into crafting cards, I just don't have that kind of mind ............... but we buy only from charities, usually UNICEF.
Daughter did start making cards a couple of years ago, and I've had some lovely cards from her. But I'm not sure how much time she has had this year with the little one.
MJ is doing fine ......... he cut 3 teeth last week (2 in one day), which means he now has 4. J said they came through with little trouble.
It is only 2 weeks today until we board the train in Vancouver to travel across to spend Christmas with them. It takes 5 nights and 6 days ..... so we arrive in Nova Scotia on Dec 19.
We just have a couple of things organised ..... including a physio appointment for me. But J is booking time for us to have a family photo portrait done of the 5 of us. She got some free coupons for it in a baby gift last March!
We board the train again on Dec 29, getting back to Vancouver on Jan 4 .............. we will spend New Year's Eve on the train somewhere in northern Ontario.
off to do something, not quite sure what!
keep warm everyone

We had sweet and sour pork Jean. It was lovely and warming. No pudding though, thats fattening. Besides it leaves room for my cuppa and biscuits later, the biscuits are not fattening, they are wafers.lol

Mo I'm not ignoring you but Anns was the last message when I sent mine. I forgot we didn't have any stairs a bit back, I asked hubby to take something upstairs for me, I meant the bedroom but forgot we have a flat now. I bet Jean is staying near the fire keeping warm.

Ooooh Merlin, Marie loves going to her Gym,if it was a Jim she would want to be wined and dined by him. She's a lady dont ya know is our Marie.
Caz, we all have CRAFT moments dont we. ( Cant Remember A Flippin Thing ) even though I don't make cards. I wonder just how many of us, go upstairs for something, and get up there and can't remember what we have gone up there for.
Look how quiet it is, Jean must be busy again making yet more cards. Poor J, one of these days he will stand still, and Jean will mistake him for her one of her cards, and cover him in glitter or the likes. Luvs you Jean MWAH I love to tease you honey.
I hate to say it, but it's still snowing outside, oooh yuk, another day indoors tommorrow by looks of it.
It took my son, almost six hours to get to work. He arrived at 1.50p.m,and was told that they were closing at 3.00p.m He is once again stuck in traffic, and god alone knows what time he will get home tonight.
Stay warm everybody. Love Mo xxx

Well what a lovely welcome but I'm not sure about that Jean one, lol, bet she's lovely really. Sallie I will send it e-mail and if you will send yours too, sorry I've not pm'd you for a while but it has been difficult trying to do the smallest thing. I am supposed to be doing some cards this afternoon but can't get my head round them for the moment, does anyone else have blank moments when doing cards? It's been bitter cold here today but lovely sunshine, now the sky has come over all white so we may get some more snow, we got quite a lot last night and we still had the lot we got on Sunday, if it goes on it will be quite deep. Back to the cardmaking now.
Caz xx

Ann I think the travel pill is called STUGERON for Jean
But it would be an idea to check with her Dr or Pharmacist if she is taking other medication
Hope you all stay warm and safe
Fingers crossed for the weekend Ann, having just been away myself I know you must be looking forward to it

Ann, my son had just TXT us, he left home four hours ago,and has been stuck in traffic,on the M20 motorway for 1.1/2 hours, and has only travelled one mile. He has phoned work, and the others have only just got in themselves. We have suggested he turns around and comes home again. Both sides of the motorway are chocker block, but it makes more sense to go home now, in daylight hours, rather than in the dark. I am sorry to hear of your mishap, with the pipes. Thats the last thing you need to happen in this weather. I bet the plumbers will be in great demand just now. Fingers crossed that this lot clears before the weekend, so that you can get to Torquay, and enjoy yourselves. Mmmm that shoulder of lamb sounds delicious, what times dinner. lol

Thinking of you today Joyce it must be so sad for you, I can't imagine the pain you are going through for you beloved daughter.
Mo, Good idea to wrap as you buy but I do go on buying bits until the last minute so I would end up buying the same thing twice I'm sure.
Well, we had the outside tap go this morning, the pipe didn't burst as we first thought but the tap and joint pared company. T has sealed off the pipe from inside the bathroom for the winter now so we should be OK. I was holding my breath as he is not the greatest at plumbing jobs, seems OK anyway.
Just finished writing all my christmas letters so feeling very virtuous. I write quite a few!!
Hoping the roads are clear at the weekend as we are away in Torquay for 3 days. So fingers crossed please.
Jean, good to see you on here, hope the vertigo stays clear now. have you got tablets for it? Jo on the birthday thread also suffers from the same and take a travel pill, can't remember the name without checking the thread, begins with S I know.
Anyway, best get on, got a shoulder of lamb in the slow cooker so better check it out.

Hello my lovelies. Well we have had that horrid white stuff falling on us since yesterday evening. When I opened the front door to go to darts last night, I was gob smacked, it was snowing a blizzard, and it was still like it when we left to come home. This morning when I opened the bedroom curtains, I needed my sun glasses on, it was so brilliantly white out there, it was a shock to the system. Well Jean, ( Mo hangs her head in shame ) we lost 2-4 in the team game last night, BUT we won the pairs 2-1. Annnd I got the winning double to enable us to keep our second place in the league. ye ha.
Welcome Caz, it's so lovely to hear from. I do hope you continue in feeling better. Theres nothing worse than being laid up unwell. Pretend our Jean's not here, she a little mischief she is, but we love her really. She's always picking on lickle ol me, but never mind I've got broad shoulders, and I know she don't mean it really.
Joyce wheres you today love. How are you and Jan now. Have you got this horrid white stuff in Holland as well. If you have, stay inside, don't try racing Jan in your scooter, you may end up doing a wheelie in it,and end up flat on your BTM.
Ann, I have been very good at wrapping my christmas presents. I wrap them as I buy them. Even the ones I bought last January in the sales, have been wrapped since then. It's such a surprise for me,when the grandchildren open them on christmas day, as I forget what I buy them. I get just as excited as them at opening time.
Cooeee Sallie, are you snowed in yet. I do hope not. It's been awful for so many people hasn't it. Has Alun+ Richard managed to get into work through it all. Roly has just had to go out, not that he wanted to, but he has had to go to the opticians, to collect his glasses. They should have been ready last Friday, but no, like most things these days, they give you a day,and things don't work out that way.
Well girls, I will love you and leave you for now. I will pop back later to say hello to you all. Love Mo xxx

Good Morning all, not sure about the lady who signs as Caz , does she pass the test I wonder, has Mo vetted Her, I think we must give her a go, say two months trial.....lol.... Hi, hun, so glad to see you on here it could do with some new inputs...Well I have been reading what you are all up to, and you are a feisty lot... So good to hear from Marilyn even if it is from the warmth of Florida.... we have just been hit by snow, people says its early but last year we were booked in for a meal on Christmas eve and it was cancelled because the roads were so bad, and it started snowing quite a while before that.... still having a few hiccups with the vertigo, every day different, so if I dont come on its not that I dont love you all, its just a bit dodgy when I keep hitting the wrong keys.....so extra love and hugs for everyone inc the newby Caz....lol..... special thoughts to our friends Huia, Marie Sylvia and not forgetting our Joyce and of course the excellent darts player. Mo...(.I hope otherwise she can forget the pressie) Take care out there or do what I do stay in !! much love and prayers Jean xxx

Welcome Caz, so pleased that you feel well enough to post, glad the past coupld of weeks are over for you.
Good to see Marilyn popping on here, although I wish she'd send us some of that sunshine. We have not had any snow here thank goodness and last night there was not even a frost.
I spent two hours this afternoon present wrapping and that was only son'd family's presents. Always takes so long to do doesn't it?

Hello Girls from a bitterly cold Derbyshire,
Mo, good luck to you and your team for tonight, keeping my fingers crossed that you'll win. Keep it going girls, so that your team will get the trophy at the end of the darts season.
Caz, what a lovely surprise to see you posting on here, you are more than welcome to join us all. There are some lovely friends on here, they're always here when you need someone to talk to. You know some of our friends already, Joyce, Jean, Liz, and Ann. Then there is our "leader" Mo in Kent,Sylvia in Canada, Huia in New zealand, Tess in Brum and Marie in Oz, oh, and me.
Could you please send me your address, if you don't mind, so that I can send you a Christmas card. I was going to send you a pm but didn't know if you are up to replying to all pm's just yet.
They've given out more snow for us tonight, which won't surprise me, as the wind has picked up a bit since this afternoon. Still we are luckier than a lot of places in the UK as we only ever have a few inches at the most.
Hope everyone is okay, and for those that are having very cold weather, keep warm.
Well, I'm going to do my usual now and have a cup of tealolol!!
Take care everyone, I'll speak to you all tomorrow.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx
