Many Thanks for responding everybody. The Danish name seems nearest as it is the same spelling but how did an Ag Labs daughter get it?? Very Mysterious. |

One of my ancestors on 1901 was put down as Alina, what a wonderful name i thought, in fact it was Alma, i know which one i prefer. You can never be too sure with transcriptions. April. |

Hi everyone. I have a family where most of the children were given funny names - Apoline Gemima, Adolphus Cotterill, Henry Fortunatas, Charlotte Millward, Peter Daniel Duffield, all with the surname FLETCHER. These children were all born in Birmingham, prior to that their father ahd been serving in the Army in Barbados and wonder if this is where he heard such exotic names. Chris(tine) in Cheltenham |

One of my favourites in my tree is Huzzab ... (a Queen mentioned in the Bible)... also Major and Doctor.. at least they had a good start in life..titled at birth :-) |
