Could someone tell why next one of the names does it say that i have contacted them when i haven't contactedthe person and do i contact GC/GR to take the word cotacted off please advise me thanks sue

If you contact someone, all the names in their tree will show as being contacted too - it helps to check which names you have contacted so you don't duplicate and send the same email to the same person. sarah

Sue, Is it possible that you have contacted someone for a look-up or that someone may have contacted you? Both of these would show as having been contacted. Sue:-)

Have you looked in your contacts, because sometimes people contact you and it doesnt come through an email but on your contacts page. Debbie

Is it possible that the person contacted you and the email as so often failed to arrive. Have you checked Your Contacts to see if the contact is there - if so you will be able to read the email that was sent to you.

Hi Sue I've just had a similar problem which took GR a while to sort out (but they were very good and kept going until we found a solution!). I found 'contacted' beside someone's name and I was positive I'd never contacted that person. Several people came up with ideas but it wasn't any of them. GR looked into it and told me the name of the actual contact person, but it still meant nothing. Then a bit later, GR came back and told me her login name - and I recognised it! I'd emailed her once about a thread on the general board, yet apparently even if you only do that, 'contacted' appears beside every single name in their tree (and apparently this lady has over 1000!). So I hope that might help a bit! Mandy :)

Sue, do you have anyone at all in the 'Your Contacts' list (on the left)? If you have then any of their names will have (contacted) in red beside them when you look at them. Hope this helps Anne

hi anne the "contacted" is next to a name in my tree,the name is JOHN HIGGINBOTTOM.I HAVE BEEN THROUGH ALL THE CONTACTS (ON THE LEFT) ALSO GONE THROUGH ALL THE E-MAILS I HAVE SENT AND E-MAILS I HAVE RECIEVED,NO CONTACT FOR JOHN HIGGINBOTTOM.I CONTACTED GC/GR LAST NIGHT THEY SAID THEY WOULD SEE WHAT THEY CAN FIND OUT FOR ME. THANKS SUE

Susan I know that if I ever send anyone a private e-mail it always tells me before I've sent the message that I have already contacted that person when I haven't. Helen
