Leanne, I'm guessing Lanarkshire... Not much help I know... Ok my Great Granny was born Mary-Ann Houston around 1890 and I know from her marriage cert that her parents were William Houston (Deceased) and Mary-Ann McRae, previously Houston, maided surname 'Anderson'. As my Great Granny married in Glasgow and lived all her days there I just assumed her parents were from there but havent done much on the line as its obviously quite a hard name to trace. Shaz x |

Sadly none of them are mine. In desperation at my lot I have started a post it note tree on the wall on the stairs. I have one page of death entries in which the top death is certified by the son in law. The bottom death is this man's niece and his brother certifies this death. To make it more complicated, first cousins married. Their parents both came from families where the siblings were named james, John, David and mary. Each of these siblings named their children James John david and mary and the spare ones were named after the mothers or the mother's fathers. What a mess! I am only able to identify each one by birth and death dates and ages. Even laying it out on the wall is a problem with the shared grandparents. So, yes I wish I could claim a few of yours instead!
