Hi Chris What type of card is it? If its just your bank card then you are just as well setting up a direct debit. You can phone them to pay by other cards tel: 08003765432 Vikki xx |

Hello, We are with NTL using a free modem installed by them and pay £17.99 per month with no limits at all. We have had no problems at all and recommend them to anyone who is thinking of going on broadband. Regards Diane :)) |

we were on freeserve then wanadoo from 1999 ...pay as you go, then anytime, then broadband from August 2003 to October 2004 - wunderbar! until we moved house and they failed to reconnect us, after 3 months we lost patience and gave upon them .... and are now with AOL silver 9 broadband with no download limit. There are two different types of connection, ADSL (or DSL) and Cable. Telewest is cable. BT and the rest are ADSL/DSL. Broadband just refers to the speed of the line. yes its preference with this. personally go for a £15-£25 package. they all have their advantages, depends on what you want to do. Even low band would be good change for people on dial up as all most people do is check emails and surf which doesn't really need broadband. broadband is classed from 512kb (dial up is 56k) onwards. Low band is 128kb and 256kb. most companies do all these. currently the fastest is Telewest with their 4mb line. again it depends on what you want to do, want to do more download etc get a better dearer package if not get a simple cheaper package so you don't waste anything. And a modem is just the device that receives and sends data and enables your computer to communicate with other computers across the world. it converts computer signals into an analog signal in order to transmit data over a telephone line. Hope this helps Steve |

Hi Its a little box that you use to connect your pc to the internet. Dial up usually has one built into your pc. BB is usually the little box and its just sits on your desktop. Comes with all instructions and quite easy to install - my sister said if she can do it anyone can. She is definately right. lol Vikki xx |

Hi Its a personel preference. I am on AOL BB Platinum Plus 2, which is the fastest at the moment and £29.99 per month for 2mb. My hubby runs his own web sites and plays a multiplayer game online, so we need it. I prefer AOL as it has parental controls, you have your sign on names/accounts and the helpline is free, as well as having live online help, which for 99% I have found excellent. It also has unlimited downloads. Most have a limit on the amount of stuff you can dowload but for most thats sufficient. A friend has pipex which he prefers. I used to be in what is now 'Wanadoo' but was then Freeserve - it was ok but didnt like the fact that anyone who logged on could look at my emails etc (kids looking at bills and such like). Alot of people will give you very different views, but I have no problems with AOL and the BB modem etc is free too. Vikki xx |
