I was visiting a friend yesterday and she has this programme. I only had a brief look at her records and didn't ask about how they are entered etc. Does anyone else think it's a good one, are records easy to input and do relationships link easily without having to put details in twice? I only have a very old, unknown programme which was free years ago and can get a bit compicated when you have more than one person with the same name. All records have to be entered individually (eg: enter a man and put his wife in his details box but then have to enter her in another box). I am thinking of buying FTM 2005. Does anyone think it's good and if so what does it cost? Thanks MW |

I got it in pc world at christmas. I think it's really easy to use. I was lucky to get it for £15 as they had an offer on. It's worth looking around. I also had the starter edition on a Your Family Tree disc a few months before that. Diane |

I used the starter edition which was free with Your Family Tree magazine a few months ago. I was very happy with it and upgraded online to the full version last week which cost me $19.99 (not had credit card statement yet so I don't know how much that will be in ££'s) Sam x |

Hi, mystery, there are many threads on this if you do a search on this board. By general consensus, this is the program most of us use and have found best. At the moment I believe pc world have it online for about £27 and amazon for about £30 inc. p and p. |

Just checked my disks, I've got Issues 1-7, 16, 23 and 24. It's not on any of these. Does anyone know if you can enter information on your ancestors which then can be printed out like a story. Eg: Edward Ford .. dob.. occupation... married Eliza Duffy, daughter of.... on .. date.. at.... church.. They had ?? children,...names and dob's... They lived at.... etc. etc. My Australian cousin has a prog which does this but I can't remember which one it is. MW |

I have it, cost me £39! a few months ago. You can add, what you like on to it,and print it out, gives you what you have added. I have just printed out Descendants of one of mine,it gives the 4 generation, names dates etc,and any other bit I have added. It is on two pages in a plastic sleeve,as I plan going to the libary and it is easier for me to remember who is who, from where! Get it, it is well worth it. If you get stuck somebody will help you. I have had to ask a few times, and as you know people on here are great at helping out. Marion |

I got FTM2005 at Christmas and it's brilliant. Easy to use, you can print charts and story books in every conceivable format, up to 99 generations and each person is allowed unlimited number of spouses! Di |

AND dont forget you can back up all the info onto a rewritable cd every time you add anything, just in case of the worse happening and the pc crashing PLUS by clicking next a few times you get your own family home page with all the info in cyber space for even greater back up security (remember to click privatise for living people before you do that). |

Hi TC Referring to your comment - 'by clicking next a few times you get your own family home page with all the info in cyber space'. Does that mean you get your own private webspace or is it like Tribal Pages (where I already have my tree). I also have it backed up on CD but thanks for the advice anyway. Lyn |
