I must have a different message box to everyone else because I have yet to see this tick. When these comments first started I checked my contacts list but no, there is only the one tree that I have allowed. I've sent several messages since, haven't seen the tick & contact list is OK Vivienne

Jess there is a thinkg at the bottm of when you send a message now saying something like allow this person to view your tree and it is already checked so that if you send them a mail they can automatically view your tree you have to make sure you uncheck it. Its only appeared over the past week or so. So everyone be careful.

Yep, think of it as giving a command. If you want to allow them to see it, click on 'allow'. This will show remove. But you will have given permission for them to see it. If you want to remove them from seeing your tree, give the command 'remove' and click on that. Hope you follow. Just think of what you would say aloud if you were commanding your pc.

Sounds a bit like that advert for Philadelphia spread! I will have a look Jess and see if I can see it. No, Jess, you will be relieved to hear that I cant. Mind you there are lots on my contacts that I can see (if I wanted to). I think its just in the last week or so since they put that stupid tick back on the contact message page that you will have had this prob. Just go through your contacts and shared trees clicking on the remove tab if you want them removed from seeing it.

No, it def has to say remove for them to see it! As you say, it is the command. While on here (still trying to sort new puter), am I being an awful snob when I see possible new contacts under name summary and then think, oh but if they have family with a Kylie, Wayne and Jason, I dont really want to be related to them!!!!

Hi Jess............I have lots of *blonde* moments too! As I see it , there is a box with a tick in which reads *allow * person to see my tree................if you remove the tick then it means you are refusing permission for them to see your tree.

command click or status....!! Now I feel very blonde - just seems gobledegook to me that it says allow when actually you are not allowing and remove when they can. Stuff campaigning for a bar on the tips board, can we campaign for 'yes' or 'no' tree permission Jess

Jess, I hope its ALLOW .... that should show if you do not want them to see.... if you press allow then you are allowing them to see it.... confused, you will be!!!! Jacquie

Can someone tell me which word should show if you do NOT want people to be able to view your tree (on the contact page) -ALLOW- or -REMOVE- A kind member has informed me that can can view my tree - and although i trust her implicitly she has no need. (Thanks K) Jess
