Ann, I don't know for certain but it wouldn't suprise me if there were bits missing. I have seen the older records on micro-fiche and some are unreadable due to the age of the documents, I guess. I don't know how you get around that one? unless you try getting the cert from the GRO. Best wishes, carol |

Did you use the 'browse' facility to check the page wasn't there, or search on name? I have sometimes found that if the first and / or last name on the page has been mistranscribed for their index, then the page will not come up when you search for a name, even though they do have the page. Can you give us the details of the entry you were looking for, and I will have a nose around! Kate. |

I am willing to bet it will be on one of the following pages: BLANKS, Thomas - BLANZEBY, William BLAZEY, Hannah Elizabeth - BLENSON, William Either the 'Blanzeby' or the 'Blazey' is a mistranscription, and I guess the Blanzeby should be Blazeby and that he would be on that page. (I didn't actually use a credit to look at the page). If you want to get one of the above pages by the 'search' method just type in one of the names given above and the right quarter and you will get the page. I got them by using 'browse' and I must remember that the next time I get one of these problems. Usually I spend ages typing in different names similar to the one I want and fume at the time it takes to find the page! Oh, and I nearly forgot...if you find one of those names is mistranscribed, report it to 1837 online and they might refund you a credit. Kate. |

No it isn't. Now I've used a credit looking at it!! The last name on the page should be Blazeby, not Blanzeby, and William Blaylock is definitely there near the bottom, Carlisle, 10b, 359. Kate. |

Typing in BLA doesn't work any more, you have to type BLA* nowadays, but for some reason they didn't bother to change the instructions on the screen to tell you that! If you type BLA* you will see what I mean. Kate. |
