Sorry, not sure what info you are looking for? Ive reread the message but it sounds like you have his marriage and birth certificate? If not you need to buy the birth cert.

So it's finding the right birth cert that is proving tricky? How do you know he was born in Bury if you don't have him on a census? Sarah

I think you need to check out if this John died early before accepting him as yours though. If he e were of full age (and they werent lying) he would have been at least 21. This chap would have been 19 at that marriage.

Well, this looks like the inlaws in Toxeth Park, Liverpool: John Crowder abt 1867 Liverpool Grandson Toxteth Park Lancashire Ann Gorton abt 1810 Liverpool Wife Toxteth Park Lancashire James Gorton abt 1809 Liverpool Lodger Toxteth Park Lancashire Thomas Gorton abt 1830 Liverpool Son Toxteth Park Lancashire It could be that Thomas was working away? Possibly on a ship?

Theres this guy who could fit the bill. He is a blacksmith but that would easily convert into boilermaker. Plus look at the names of his siblings. Father dead by looks of it. Elizabeth Crowder abt 1812 Butter Knowle, Durham, England Head Haswell Durham George Crowder abt 1834 West Auckland, Durham, England Son Haswell Durham James Crowder abt 1846 Haswell, Durham, England Son Haswell Durham John Crowder abt 1838 Shildon, Durham, England Son Haswell Durham Mary Crowder abt 1836 West Auckland, Durham, England Daughter Haswell Durham Ralph Crowder abt 1841 Haswell, Durham, England Son Haswell Durham Richard Crowder abt 1849 Haswell, Durham, England Son Haswell Durham Thomas Crowder abt 1840 Haswell, Durham, England Son Haswell Durham William Crowder abt 1843 Haswell, Durham, England Son Haswell Durham I think you will have to trawl all the Thomas Crowders in the 1861 really.
