Tried BT directory enquiries - searched Harris and Dovercourt. There were around 20 results, but one was: Harris K.A, 510, Main Rd, Harwich Could this be her, or maybe just a coincidence?!! I didn't think it was quite right for me to post her phone number, but can send it to you if you send me a PM. Sarah

If you know where you were Christened, it's possible that the Church would have a record of the Godparents' names (at least). Christine

Then really your best bet would be to ask your Mum, are your really prepared to wite to every Mrs Harris in the country ( becasue she could be anywhere now) and ask if they are your Godmother? have you looked in the phone book? that might be a good place to start Jess

She hates it so much that you can't ask the name of your Godmother? did they fall out or something? there are people with the electoral roll that they can look on. I wonder how many Mrs Harris's there are in Dovercourt? What year were you christened, or born? Jess

You need to access the electoral rolls for the address (held at library local to the address) - then at least you should be able to discover her (and hubby's) firstnames, which is a start! Sarah
