Apart from Glen Miller does anyone know of any other music which was popular in the mid 1940's? Been on lots of music history sites, but no joy yet.

Slap my face, Brenda! where did you find all them??? Thank guys for all your help. Heather, I need them 'coz I am writing up my mother's family tree (and my father's later) and putting it into an album (scrapbook stylee with papers, embellishments, momentos etc), with photo's (well, the few I have!) and writing about the time in which they were born - the music, fashion, politics, news etc. Then I am going to give them their books for an anniversay pressie,it will be their 40th. Do you think they will like it???

The album sounds like a wonderful idea, I'm sure that they are going to love it and enjoy it for years!! The children of our friends did a video for their parents, it was fantastic ! They took all of the photos of their parents from birth on, and put them on video with the 40s & 50s music in the background. Then they added a running commentary which was hilarious. Both parents were in the military and as they showed photos of them with their respective dates, the comentary would say 'Hmmmmm I wonder if this one is going to be my dad??'Or when their father was shown posing with his flashy new car, they had equally funny comments. You had to be there, It was great!
