her fathers name is Christopher Nicholson. It says Wemyes on ancestry, but her wedding cert is wemyss and also her children have that middle name too spelt the same. it took me ages to figure that out!! have looked for both ways of spelling though. have looked for 1861/71 and there are lots of Ellens with no father with the right name or occupation (glass maker) |

It might help to look for her in 1861/1871. what is her father's name? |

i know she was born c1859 because of the Census info. i know her name because of her marriage. I have found a couple of Ellen's but the fathers name isnt right, so i know thats not her. Her marriage was in 1879 in Newcastle, to William Elliott Sorry its probably me not making much sense |

sorry meant Dec 1860 registered so thats not her. I havent found any with Wemyss at all, i only know its that because of her marriage cert and i am unable to find her before her marriage. |

Do either of these look likely? NICHOLSON, Ellen 1860 December Births Newcastle upon Tyne Northumberland NICHOLSON, Ellen 1860 June Births Sunderland Co. Durham Tyne and Wear If not, I can only suggest that you contact the local register office and see if they can help. sometimes certs didn't get onto the GRO index. Nell |

Hi, im looking for an Ellen Wemyss Nicholson born c 1859 in Newcastle. The only one i can find is one registered in Dec 1859 and thats not her. Any help gratefully recieved! |
