sorry been away I would never open any that were deleted by an anti virus programme because thats probably why they are there just send them to the recycle bin and empty it regularily okay hope that helps

Rita - I'm a computer thickie too - I only know about problems that I have already managed to solve over the years. It looks like Gina has solved it for you though so I would go with that! Best of luck. Dea x

Valerie - I have just found the Deleted email Box going back to 2002. Presumably I can delete this permanently. If so, how? Rita

Gina - I found some in the Norton AntiSpam folder. Is it OK to usemy discretion and open any of them? I will try the Outlook Expess method too. Thanks Rita ----------------------------------------------------------- Dea - I am not sure re web-mail. I have only the one email address if that is what you mean. I am total technie thick head when it comes to PCs. Rita ----------------------------------------------------------- Valerie - Do you mean the recycling bin when you mention the deleted box? Rita

Hi I often get as many as 20 emails coming in but only actually get one or two because my anti virus programme is removing them so they appear in the deleted box

Rita, I used to have Norton but changed to McAfee a long time ago because I had so many problems with it but I'm sorry, I can't remember now how it works with regard to e-mail. I gt my e-mail via ntl and it gives me the option of looking at it via web-mail on the home page. I DO remember that when Norton didn't let them in I could go and view them there. Do you have this type of option on whatever system you have? Dea

Dea - I have Norton - that is all I know. I have wondered if some images were being blocked but thought that at least I would be informed somehow, not quite sure how tho' Rita

Stu - I will check the recycle bin but have never heard of a junk or trash file. ---------------------------------------------------------- Geoff - Have scrolled up, down and sideways. But no indication of emails with the relevant date. I don't understand why, if 3 mails are sent, only 2 may appear in the Inbox. Regards to both of you. Rita

The date and time on e-mails relates to the time at which they were sent - timed on the computer which sent them. If this clock is not set correctly, they will not be at the top of your inbox (assuming you have most recent at the top). A friend of my wife had a computer clock that was always misbehaving and her mails appeared lower down the inbox. You should scroll down your Inbox until you see a mail which has a *bold* title; this should be your missing mail.

Hi – I don’t know whether I am going potty or what but I seem to have a problem with some receiving emails. On a number of occasions I have clicked on ‘send/receive’ button. The window indicates how many, if any, messages are being delivered. If say, it states that 3 messages are being delivered then when I go to my ‘Inbox’ there may only be 2. This morning I received 1 message. The Inbox indicated 2 unread messages (I knew there was one there unopened). When I went to find the new email – nothing, zilch. This has happened several times over some weeks. I am beginning to think that I am imagining things. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there an explanation? Yours in puzzlement, Rita
