would anyone know if this is short for another name, i have been looking for Carrie Wells born Wandsworth between 1905-1911, i can't find her anywhere. Thankyou for your help!!

I believe it can also be an abbreviation for Charis (a version of Grace). Christine

We have two present carrie, Karrie, short for nothing, not sure if this is just now, as have seen both on past census also

My great gran was known as Carrie and she was a Caroline, but thats the Scots for you!
