I've had lots of 'blank' matches too...thought maybe they were living people but evidently not. I wonder what the story is there? |

My most common match was Barbara Carter (none of them mine). My only matches are those I am already in contact with. |

My hot matches are up to H - unfortunately I've just had to wade through all the Halls who are of no relation at all and are in completely different areas to mine. I'm dreading them getting to the Smiths!!! I don't think its working properly as when I clicked on some of them, no details came up at all. This is going to bug people as well, the number of names that have no places of birth next to them, a rough guestimate with a ? at the end would really help. Rachel |

If it was really smart, it would match chains of names in people's trees - i.e. if you have John Smith in your tree, you're probably going to get 1000's of so-called hot matches, and chances are that none of them will be relevant. However, if your John Smith married a Mary Jones and they had a son called Ronald, and all 3 of those names and relationships were matched in someone else's tree, then that would be a very useful match indeed. Shouldn't be that difficult to program, GR? Maybe the results could be ranked according to how many names/relationships the two trees have in common. |

I definate match + 3 'ever hopeful, so try anyways' Thanks for putting me straight on the letter info, I was starting to think my tree was playing up. Actually I found it easier this way than trying to go through all the new names in the summary. Sylvia |

Most of mine are for the surname Johnson, hate to think how many pages there would be for a John Smith. Heather |

If it's a common name it comes up in handfulls. It needs to at least be County selective. My cousin Susan Carter born 1952 in London showed up half a dozen or more times, but all over the Country. |

I don't think much of this new page. Most of the people on my list may have the same name and approximately the same year of birth, but most are born nowhere near why my names are born. Kath. x |

It appeared yesterday Sylvia, only the first part of the alphabet so far. I trawled through five pages and forgot to click the boxes of the ones I didn't want to see again so have to do it all again, lol. Heather |

I've just noticed something odd on the Hot Matches for my names.....there are no name matches past the letter G???? Has anyone else found this? Is it so new that GR are still working through the alphabet? This is the first time I've checked it and there were 5 pages so it must have been going for a while. Sylvia |
