So the second of the two possible Margaret Walsh deaths is the one, because it records her father's name as Jeremiah and that's her dad's name on the LDS birth record........ In your last message you said: ''so there is no film is there with this on LDS just the imformants info it does say more info could be on ancestral file what and where would that be do you know please??'' I'm not quite sure which info you mean??? Do you mean the Irish records? You would have to look in the ODS library catalogues to see if they have any films covering Bearhaven, Cork that you could view at an LDS centre (Oh, I can't find Bearhaven on any map Ggggrrrrr!!). Trouble with Irish records is that the Catholic Church was/is not keen on giving their records to the LDS, so they have very little. The other problem is that you don't know what denomination your family were, so you may not actually want Catholic records!! I would suggest you put up a separate thread if you want to ask in more detail about Irish records, as everything I have ever looked at has always come up with a great big NOTHING!! As for Ancestral Files etc on the LDS. I can't see that there is an Ancestral File for this family - so that route isn't open to you...... Merry |

Hi!! Do you mean these LDS entries? MARGARET MARY LOWNEY Birth: 1824 Marriages: Spouse: PATRICK WALSH Family Marriage: 1842 , Cork, Ireland Messages: Record submitted after 1991 by a member of the LDS Church. MARGARET MARY LOWNEY Event(s): Birth: 1824 Bearhaven, Cork, Ireland Death: 1872 Parents: Father: JEREMIAH LOWNEY Messages: Record submitted after 1991 by a member of the LDS Church. Hmmmmm I don't know much about Irish research. PATRICK WALSH Death: 21 MAY 1880 Marriages: Spouse: MARGARET MARY LOWNEY Marriage: 1842 , Cork, Ireland Messages: Record submitted after 1991 by a member of the LDS Church They have given an exact date of death for Patrick, which is the only apparently concrete date...... If that date is correct, I don't think he could have died in Eng/Wales as there is no death reg for any adults of a sensible age in Q2 1880..... Can you check if there is a death in Australia? Of course, it could have taken place in Ireland, but is easier to discount easier places first! Merry |

Merry Hi this is so weird I have just found On Surnames Site that Charles the big fibber was born in Western Australia this comes from LDS too so I'm flabbergasted again and am desperate to find the person who is putting this info on there its quite new on there I'm sure of that , and all it says is it was put on by a member of the church do you know if there is any way to find out who that person is ? now I'm not sure about whether they married perhaps in W.A too , I found a lot of Lowneys on that surname site too and most born in Ireland so maybe they married there or as you say in Scotland OMG I'm pooped I need to get off here been looking all day today thanks for your help again I found a heap of births on NSW BDM too with Margaret and Patrick as the parents but thought it couldn't be the same couple now I know it probably was that they all travelled over from WA to the East Coast of Australia and continued on having their family until Margaret passed away maybe just before Charles wedding as there is a birth in 1879 thanks again for your help noone in my caravan( hubbie and dog )is interested and I find myself talking to myself, kind regards Lara |

Marriages on Ancestry (and FreeBMD) have a blank patch immediately before 1866 (there are none for a Margaret Lowney on these sites until 1899!), when your marriage may have taken place, so you might need to search 1837online. Another thing...........No Margaret Lowney's on the 1861 census, unless mistranscribed. Another thing, the name Margeret Lowney sounds distinctly Scottish to me....... Merry |

I have at last found out my greatgrandfathers mothers name out it is Margaret Mary Lowney and his father is Patrick Walsh .What I would would like is if you can find their marriage at all, Charles (the son ) married in Sydney Australia 1888, so a guess at his birth year would be 1868, so needs to before then or around then I guess, its puzzling as there are children born here to a Patrick and Margaret Walsh but from around 1850 on so can't be his parents unless they went home to have him and then back again ???I have looked at LDS site and found one Margaret Lowney born Chester 1720,and a marriage for another Margaret Lowney1804 in so neither are the right one I have looked in Freebdm UK and have not found them either, so any help would be great, and much appreciated Kind Regards, Lara UP DATE have found Charles birth in WA MERRY please read message below will delete this later tonight |
