This the first time I have boughts credits for this was looking up a birth in 1928 found it straight away then was looking for the death of the mother as I know this person does not remember his mother at all and he was always told that she died when he was 2-3 years old but wasted the rest of my credits trying to find the death which i did not find is it possible that it was not registered. What are your thoughts please Margaret |

Other cases like this have sometimes revealed that the mother actually left the family, but didn't die. The story of the ''dec'd mother'' is then made up to ''protect'' the child from the truth. Not suggesting this is necessarily the case with yours, but just something to bear in mind....... UPDATE: OOh Hello Fiona - I wasn't talking about you, HONEST :o) Merry |

Hi Marg i know is frustrating my father in law told me his mum died when he was about 6 or 7 turns out he was 13, i thourght i would never find her. I carried on above the estimated years and found one then i discounted that as she had a middle name, and i do have her baptism cert 1890 NO middle name, got someone to check in Liverpool records office for me at the Anfield burial records it was her right address etc, got her death cert and its there the middle name. So dont give up. Colette |

Hi Merry, It would have been ok if you were, I don't think it was to protect my mum! From what I've found out about my grandad and his mother I think it was because they wanted my mum to have nothing to do with her. Fiona. x Margaret, Do you have the marriage certificate from the husbands second marriage? Will say if he was a widower or the marriage was dissolved. |

Margaret, I hope that you are saving your 1837 pages, its a waste to pay to view them, and then discard them........ you can either print them off, or save them into a folder, suitably named, for the purpose....... yours, with respect, Bob |

If you use Family Relatives instead of 1837online it saves the pages for you (within the site) so you don't have to do anything extra. Not quite as good as saving them properly yourself, but brill when someone says, ''Sorry, what was the page number?'' just after you have come out of the program!! Merry |
