Birth Certificate for£8?

I read yesterday on this board that you could order Birth Certficiates for £8 now I cannot find the same message-can anybody please tell me where from for that price. Thanks=-Gillian.

You will need a reference to order it. Unless you know the exact date etc and you could ask the local records office for a copy. Give us the names and dates.

Birth certificate is for Gillian Jennifer Irwin date of birth: 3rd August, 1951 Place of Birth: St. Albans, Hertfordshire - any more details needed?.

Too recent for free bmd. With all those details you could phone St Albans records office (google for it) and ask for a copy - it will cost the same OR You could try putting a thread entitled 1837 look up please and then give her details for some kind soul to use a unit of their 1837 sub. Athough I seem to remember you will need all those details too for an event so recent.
