Yes definitely agree there. This one woman just appears on census/childs birth certificate in 1901 and never heard of again. |

Aaah right...that's ok, thought I'd missed something while I was playing about with wills on the national archives! I have a few I can't find but I actually don't think they were born...they were dropped by the alien spaceship who then beamed them back up again just before each census night! |

Just about whether the bdm entries were missed off when the list was sent to the GRO. I'm hoping so as I can't find a marriage. |

Is what likely, Julie? What did I say/miss? |

I don't know if it's LIKELY Julie, but it certainly is possible, I telephoned the records office and they confirmed this, so fingers crossed. I cannot find a birth for the mother either! Sunny R - this is not the same family. Sam |

Do you think that's likely Lou? Have many records not made it to the GRO or 1837? I also have a couple in 1901 census with baby son (who is an only child of elderly parents 42 and 47?). Haven't been able to find marriage or deaths of parents. Feel its possible she might have been married before. He appears unmarried in 1891 census but no trace of her although she was born in Ireland. |

All the marriage certs I have include the names of the witnesses |

Oh lovely, thank you. I have a family of 4 in 1901 and all I have is the birth cert of the youngest child, and the death cert of the eldest child. So I am going to look for the marriage of the parents and the birth cert of the eldest child. I am hoping that these just did not make it to the GRO, otherwise I'm stuck :) Sam |

It will show witnesses as well, which are not on the certificate. Often these are relations. |

Marriages in the parish records after 1837 are exactly the same as proper certificates. In fact I looked one up in the parish records and took a photocopy but the father's name was not clear so I ordered the certificate from the register office. It was the exact same entry (same handwriting etc) just photocopied onto the official form! Sam x |

All the PR entries I've looked up after 1837 have been exactly like the marriage cert, including fathers name In a couple of instances I've even found 'consent given by.....' when the person has been a minor which you don't see on a cert! |

I am hoping to find a marriage in Parish records, 1896ish, there's nothing on 1837 online, is it likely to show fathers names like a certificate does? Thanks Sam |
