you said you think you had birth details from 1837 so you could order cert get parents name and job he was doing when she was born and address or did i miss understand Jeanette

Thanks everyone. I think I've got her birth details from 1837 logged as DOWESWELL. Worcestershire. She lived in Herefordshire but left her hubbie and daughters and went to live in Worcester, so if she had been born there then she probably went to live with or near to family. Thanks v. much Claire

few are farmers and ag labs can't see any wood cutters but i suppose from 1901 to 1924 he could have had a few jobs Jeanette

Sure she didn't have a middle name????? There are five close birth reg's: Dowdeswell, Doris Martha H 1899 March Births Cheltenham Gloucestershire Dowdeswell, Doris May 1906 December Births Weymouth Dorset DOWDESWELL, Doris Winifred 1907 June Births West Ham Essex Greater London Dowdeswell, Grace Doris 1904 September Births Southwark Greater London London Dowdeswell, Iris Doris I 1906 March Births Wheatenhurst Gloucestershire any of these places look better than any others?? Can't see a woodcutter/sawyer in 1901.... Merry
