Hi Dawn I have tried IGI but haven't found anything. They seem to take turns in disappearing lol I did wonder if she might have been a twin of Jemima - who is aged 12 on the 1871, but wouldn't you know it, having trouble finding her birth on Ancestry now lol They are doing my head in - what with Fanny and Lizzie/Lizzy too - all proving to be elusive!! Am off to the FRO in London on Tues - guess I'm just gonna be searching Chaplin's all day lol |

Ann Have you thought Dolly might of been a pet name as she was the youngest at the time and as that is what they called her told the census people that was her name. Have you tried doing a search on IGI. Look for births and just put in parents names no name for child and if you are lucky it will give you all children born to those parents. Came up trumps for my Newington ones. |

in 1871 they have a 11yr old & a 12yr old, that's strange, the girl is Jemima I think, could she have been ''Dolly'' ? |

Thanks June I searched there for all Chaplins born Newington and none looking likely :O( And now I have noticed one of her sisters who on the 1861 would have been aged abt 2 - is missing from there, but I have her from 1871 - 1901 including marriage - very strange !?!?!? lol |

On 1861 Census - Dolly Chaplin Age 1 - born Newington Ldn/Surrey abt 1860 Living in London with Parents Joseph age 33 and Charlotte age 31, plus siblings I cannot find any other trace of her - have searched births, deaths and marriages on Ancestry for Dolly and Dorothy Have searched on 1837 - Chaplin births from 1859 - 1861 I'm at a loss - can anyone help??? |
