It usually tells you on the website how long the waiting list is, my last 2 purchases took just 4 days so keep your fingers crossed!!

Thanks Jean It did say expected dispatch date of 22nd, just hope the postie's in a good mood!!!!!! They're birth certs are for her grandparents that she never knew anything about, her dad died four years ago, and she found their names in some old correspondence. Looby

Hi Looby - I ordered 4 certs online from GRO last Friday and they all arrived yesterday (Tuesday). Jackie

I ordered 3 certs on the 28th November and deliver date was the 5th December it came and went and no certs, so i wanted as i put it down to near Christmas. Last week i got fed up of waiting so emailed them 3 times, LOL as apparently there is a certain way you have to email them pmsl. They re issued me my 3 other certs for me as they said they has posted them, they sent them Friday and i got them this morning.LOL. excellent service. Just off now to order another 3, LOL :-) hope yours arrive soon

just shows you how good the GRO is, they deserve a mince pie and a tot of rum, dont you think. Can you think of any govt dept as efficient as them, I cant. Ive just been to the PROBATE OFFICE to get some forms and filling the main form in, the first question was 'what days are you available to attend the oath swearing'. and the second question was 'what days are you not available' Then finally got to the back page, and on the back page the first question was 'make sure you attach the following documents to this application' Its a form PA 2 and the first document I had to attach to form PA2 was the form PA2 which I had just completed. now that is efficiency, you must be joking. TED.

Don't forget the new series of Who Do You Think You Are? starts early January. Make sure you order any certificates now. When the first series was on certificates were taking weeks to arrive. Linda

Ordered last Thursday with a despatch date Dec 21st but they arrived this morning...21st. Pleased to get them before Christmas. Going to otder some more straight after the holiday before the new series 'Who do you think you are' When the last series was shown we had a delay, more people searching for ancestors!!
