Go into search put in fathers name in fathers section put in first name of mother in mothers section don't out anything else press search and it should give all the offspring with parents of those names Good luck Gloria |

Thanks Gloria I got 88 but looks like some possibles there! Names ring a bell anyway! Would parish records tell me mothers maiden name so I can confirm which marriage these offspring come from? Cheers Kaz |

It may be that she wasn't married. PRs usually give both parents' names or sometimes just the father. Gwynne |

In answer to your question, parish records don't usually give the mother's maiden name, but if it was given it would almost certainly be on the IGI entry. However, you may find that extra information was given in the parish records to help work out which couple had which children, such as 'abode' and / or occupation of father. So it would be worth looking at the christening entries in the parish register, or asking somebody else to look them up. Kate. |

Ann That's brilliant - no I hadnt' found her I was confused with all the place names! I found the other one Ann Ashwood but no READ there! her father was Joseph and mother Elizabeth ch 14 Jul 1782 Barrow, Shrops. One thing that does worry me tho' what if the both couples lived in Madeley - and therefore some of the children belong to one and some to the other Oh bother!! Heard from Shropshire look up and they can't help me! Am very grateful to you for the new lead will shuffle me papers and have a look on IGI! Many thanks Kaz :o) |
