I believe it means she has got enough money not to have to go out to work. Dea x |

About her husband - does it say at the side of her name - M for married, or usually Wid if she is a widdow. ?? Dea x |

On the census image after it says Head, the next column should state her marriage status, either S or Unmar - Single/Unmarried, M or Mar - Married or Wid for Widow/Widower. I read living own means to be (if there is no occupation) that she is probably not working but has enough money to survive, i.e is not taking handouts, i.e. poor relief. |

Looked at the image myself and it say 'M' in the 'Condition as to Marriage' column so she's Married in 1901. HTH Joy Think I have her on 1891 Census as well, but surname mis-transcribed as 'Kough' and first name spelt 'Catharine' - Her husband appears to be James Keough born c1831 in Nock, Ireland. |

Just looked at the original on ancestry and it says 'M' so she must have been still married. Gloria |
