I have the christening of Edward Greening in Swindon at St Marks on the 20/07/1856 and also brother John christened at St Marks Swindon Wiltshire 13/06/1858 their parents were George Greening and Ellen Stocker and they came originally from Gloucestershire , and Devon ,can any one help me find the birth ref no for Edwards birth someone kindly gave me a birth in 1853 in Gloucesterhire but it wasn't my Edward as I applied for certificate and when they tried to verify it wasn't had wrong parents him so starting out all over again, so disappointing thought it was right one and was eagerly awaiting the cert in the snail mail, I would very grateful for this info as a lot riding on this bloke he left my great granma with 7 children never to be heard of again as far as I know and maybe married again and had ten more children only way of finding out is thru birth to check if he had and what is his middle name , kind regards Lara |

yes Valerie sorry put johns year for christening there instead of edwards , I have looked in wiltshire census for 1851 but they must not have been there then and in 1861 they would have left uk to come to Australia, so maybe I'll look in 1851 in Gloucestershire for them maybe with Georges parents too thanks for jolting my grey matter Im getting worse by the minute , regards Lara |

Sorry Lara - I gave you the wrong birth again!! No, My William Lightwood remained in England and was my Great grandfather. It is just that he gives three different places of birth on the census (along with very imaginative ages) and I can't find his birth although I have printed out, checked on every Wm Lightwood listed anywhere and think I shall have to give up on him.
