I've found OH's GG-Grandfather on 1861 Census on a Vessel named Lady of the Lake. Anyone out there know where I can find out about the boat?

Remember the number of vessels afloat in the Victorian period was many, many times the number now, so there will probably be many Lady of the Lake's!! Maybe see if there's any info at the local record office to the port where he lived (if he lived at a port! LOL) Merry

Just wondering if it could be a Canal Barge. Census listing is 'Vessels' and County/island is 'Nottinghamshire'. Joy See 1861 Census William Johnson born abt 1846 Radford, Nottingham.

Merry you are truly amazing!! (And with a sense of humour - well, sense of the ridiculous). Yet another gem to add to the two folders of useful information I am never likely to need, 'afraid' not to keep - but will never be able to find if ever I do need it!! Victoria-the-newly-risen
