Zoe Bet we still get inundated with look up requests. Is it for ever or just a limited time, do you know? Margaret

Well they are giving 1901 free for a month arent they, so it may be the same for the bmd.

Have had a look at the Ancestry site for free BMD's - am I as thick as - or am I correct in thinking that you still have to register for a free trial to access the new BMD's? When I tried to do a search they asked me for my name email etc etc as usual. Hoping for enlightenment!! (I'm sure there's a long queue hoping for enlightenment!!) Thanks Anna

Susie You're not in the right place, all you get there is the GRO ref. You need to go to home page, but make sure you are on ancestry(.)co.uk. Then click under more genealogy sites click on E&W BMD index. Click on search Complete Images, enter your details and you will bring up pages as in 1837 which you can search. Hope this helps Kat

I think from what 'Zoe in London' said about the press release she saw that they will just be free for about 4 weeks, so make the most of it while it lasts if you don't have a subscription! Kate.

Lot easier to search today, last night I had to find each page myself now it takes me straight to the page. Great, shame I need to do some housework today or I would be on there all day. Good Luck. Irene

Thanks Margaret. Got there eventually. Strange how we get used to using a site in a specific way and don't bother looking at the diffrent ways that present themselves. Mind you the transcriptions leave a lot to be desired. I put my mums name in and came up with 4 or 5 pages per quarter and she wasn't a Smith. Still shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, I will still use my 1837 credits to check though. Thanks again Jo
