I have an ongoing problem with the family of my great-grandfather. I have birth and marriage certs. for James Joseph Turley, and Julia Lucy.1844&'45 respectively. I have a death cert. for James Joseph 1890 Mar.Camberwell. the informant beingJulia. I have birth certs.for the four known children, also marriage and death certs in re.my grandfather. With all this info. to hand, I cannot find census entries. Even more frustratingly,I have searched 1890 to1910 looking for a death cert in re. Julia(Turley). HELP Please. Mick

All born Lambeth. The family seems to have been there from about 1800 to the 1960s. Mick

Hi Mick When ancestry is back on, try this: Just enter first name then when born and where and where you think they are now. This should bring up all the James Josephs or James J's born at that time and place I would think that the name might be under Hurley or Furley but check all the likely mis-transcribed names.and check for Julia as the wife

Thanks Pauline. I'll try that.,but I would really like to find Julia's death cert. Mick

There is a Cornelious (sic) in 1901 with children Emily 3 and Polly 1 in Lambeth - also Julia is still there. That confirms my 1881 find! Peter

Nice one Peter. I've been scratching my head for weeks over this one. I had the 1901 for Cornelious., but cannot see Julia anywhere. Still looking for a date of death for her also. Thanks a bunch Mick

This is not her...(there is a60yo in Liverpool in the census) Deaths Dec 1903 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Turley Julia 59 Liverpool 8b 63 ..so you could be in for a search through 1837 on line

Thanks to all who have helped me with this over the past few days. I now have essentially all the information that I was unable to find. (but there will surely be something unforeseen turning up) Thanks again. Mick
